Edible coating for fresh fruit: A review

Presently, fresh fruit are most demanded in the market because of its good nutritional value. Due to perishable nature of fruit, it has a very short shelf life. Major losses in quality and quantity of fresh fruit occur by microorganisms, insects, pre and post harvesting conditions during transport and preservation. In the modern era, the application of bio based material as a way of enhancing the shelf life of highly perishable produce is promising.
