Fatigue life analysis of fillet welded structures of semi trailer chassis frame using the hot spot stress approach

In this paper, the hot spot stress approach recommended by the International Institute of Welding (IIW) has been applied to estimate fatigue life of fillet welded structures for the chassis frame of semi trailer, which was locally manufactured in Vietnam. The combined method of the finite element analysis (FEA) and the multi-body dynamic simulation (MBDS) is proposed for structural analysis.
