Unit 9 : At home and away. Lesson 2: A2- A holiday in Nha trang. I. Objectives. After the lesson Ss will be able to know more about the simple past form,,Retell the story about the holiday by using the words saw , ate, sharks , dolphins, turtles......... -To drill Ss speaking and listening ,Reading skills. II. Teaching aids. Tape + casstte player, text book , work sheet. III. Teaching procedure. 1. Class organization. 2. Oral test. - Do exercise 1.2 (page 53 ) in the work book . 3. New lesson. A. Warm up: Play matching. A B. 1. visit a. ate 2. talk b. looked
3. go c. visited 4. look d. went. 5. arrive e. talked 6. eat f. arrived - Call some pairs to read the answer . - Check if necessary . + The answer: 1-c, 2-e . 3- d, 4-b, 5-f, 6-a,. B. Pre - listening and reading. - Introduce the lesson , give some questions and ask the Ss to listen to answer . ( work in pair ). - How was Liz’s vacation ? - What did she think of Nha trang ? - What places did she visit ? - Introduce the new words : Shark: cá mập Dolphin : cá voi Different kind of : nhiều loại khác nhau Instead : thay vào đó.

While - listening and reading. -Play the tape twice , and ask the Ss to read the text in silence to find out the content of the reading . - Ask the Ss to read the text aloud. - Read the answer in pairs aloud . a. Her parents went to the aquarium with her. b. They saw sharks , dolphins, turtles , and many types of fish. c. They bought a cap and a poster. - Check the answer if necessary. - Play the tape once more time to check again. D. Post- listening and reading - Ask the Ss to read the text again , and look at the picture to retell the story of Liz‘s family. ( work in pairs ).
- Aks the Ss to retell the story in front the class. a. The Robisons went to the Aquarium. b. They saw sharks , dolphins , turtles and many colour fish. c. There was a sourvenirs shop near the exsit of the aquarium. d. Mr Robinsons bought a cap and a poter. After that, they went to the foodstall to eat crap and noodles. - Check if necessary. . 4. Consolidation - Retell the main content of the text. 5 Home work. - Do exercise 3-4 page 54 in work book.
