In vitro regeneration of parthenocarpic cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

The present investigation was carried out in Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Olericulture, KAU, Vellanikkara with four genotypes of cucumber comprising gynoecious, monoecious and two parthenocarpic genotypes for in vitro plant regeneration. Seeds were grown in the culture bottles quarterly filled with half strength MS basal medium. Cotyledonary leaf explants were then transferred to eight media compositions of half strength MS medium with varying IAA and BAP concentrations in the culture test tubes. It was found that different media compositions exhibited varying responses with all the genotypes.
