In this era of Industry 4.0, the application of high technologies in the management of natural resources has become more popular and achieved certain successes. This paper presents the highly feasible applications of two technologies: Big Data and Cloud computing for the macrofungal resources biodiversity management, thereby building a pilot model for the management of some valuable macro mushroom resources in Vietnam.

The pegylated interferon regimen has long been the lone effective management of chronic hepatitis C with modest response. The first appearance of protease inhibitors included boceprevir and telaprevir. However, their efficacy was limited to genotype 1. Recently, direct antiviral agents opened the gate for a real effective management of HCV, certainly after FDA approval of some compounds that further paved the way for the appearance of enormous potent direct antiviral agents that may achieve successful eradication of HCV.

Like king Midas, the champion of a Knowledge Management (KM) initiative might find herself in an awkward situation because the wish came true. Successful KM initiatives can lead to problems. The case study presented in this article details how a consulting company attempted to support its dispersed staff of consultants through the introduction of a web-based KM portal. The application became popular – too popular in the sense that it led to a deterioration of certain types of knowledge exchange. It achieved the intended goals, but created unforeseen problems.

This paper is the first attempt to provide an overview of the current progress of integrated coastal management in Vietnam using a combined quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodology. The paper concludes that, despite strong technical and financial support from experienced countries and the government’s commitment, ICM initiatives in Vietnam so far have been ideologically driven and only achieved a certain degree of success at the strategic level rather than at the operational level.
