Wolman disease is a rare disease caused by the absence of functional liposomal acid lipase due to mutations in LIPA gene. It presents with organomegaly, malabsorption, and adrenal calcifications. The presentations can resemble hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, the life threatening hyperinfammatory disorder.

The cDNA encoding lipase enzyme was cloned from Olea europaea var. europaea cv. Gemlik leaves using the RACE method. The full nucleotide sequence was 1546 bp long and encoded a putative protein of 412 amino acid long protein. The amino acid sequence showed identity to Triacylglycerol Lipase 1 sequences from different plants. A phylogenetic tree was constructed showing relations with various plant lipases.

A series of novel 2,5-dioxopyrrolidines were synthesized by the one-pot reaction of coumarin-3-carboxylic acids 1 with thiourea derivatives and alkyl isocyanides in the presence of Fe 3 O4 NPs @ lipase as heterogeneous reusable nanobiocatalysts with high yields. Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are useful tools for the efficient synthesis of heterocyclic compounds due to their environmental friendliness, atomic economy, and green specifications.

Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) is the only plant known to store wax esters instead of triacylglycerols in its seeds. Wax esters are composed of very-long-chain monounsaturated fatty acids and fatty alcohols and constitute up to 60% of the jojoba seed weight.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are the part of lipids produced from microorganisms, which have pulled in much consideration due to its beneficial consequences for human wellbeing. Polyunsaturated fatty acids have prompted the advancement of strategies for acquiring and controlling polyunsaturated lipids. Protein interceded responses have shown interesting points of interest over synthetic methodologies and business lipase. A few metabolites, for example, enzymes, carotinoids, and extracellular polysaccharides can likewise get from marine protists like Thraustochytrids.

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) are a group of rhizospheric bacteria, found in association with plant roots and enhance the growth of plant directly or indirectly. To isolate multi-trait PGPR, total 7 soil sample were collected from sugarcane rhizosphere with diverse previous cropping pattern. Total 38 distinct isolates were obtained in pure culture from above collected samples, were screened for their ability of plant growth promoting characters in in vitro conditions. Out of this, 100% showed antagonistic potential, 55.26%, 42.11% and 52.

Lipases are enzymes that catalyze the transformation reactions of triglycerides in to fatty acids and glycerol. They can be produced by animals, plants and microorganisms. This article presents the isolation of lipase-producing bacteria from soil samples collected from sites contaminated with waste from palm oil production in the littoral region of Cameroon. These permit to isolate a multitude of bacteria capable of producing lipase from Rhodamine B-agar olive oil culture medium.

Electrophoretic analysis of germinating linseed proteins showed a gradual decrease in the quantity of a protein with a molecular weight of 42 kDa. This protein accumulates after 36 h of germination in synchronisation with an increase in lipase activity, and a decrease in the quantity of the total lipids.

This study was undertaken to investigate effect of molecular sieves on the esterification reaction between lauric acid and geraniol in isooctane catalyzed by immobilized lipase in a batch and continuous-loop packed-bed reactor. Molecular sieves were used to reduce the inhibitive effect of water formed during the reaction by removing it as it formed.

Lesser amounts of lipases are used in oleochemical transformations (Bornscheuer, 2000). Lipases can play an important role in the processing of g-linolenic acid, a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA); astaxanthine, a food colorant; methyl ketones, flavor molecules char- acteristic of blue cheese; 4-hydroxydecanoic acid used as a precursor of g-decalactone, a fruit flavor; dicarboxylic acids for use as prepolymers; interesterification of cheaper glycerides to more valuable forms (e.g., cocoa butter replacements for use in chocolate manufacture) (Undurraga et al.
