This research is motivated by a linear equations system, which is the basis for studying necessary linear algebra materials, such as rank, range, linear independent/dependent, linear transformations, characteristic values and vectors. There are still prospective mathematics teachers who have difficulty solving linear equations system and understanding the form of row echelon and reduced row echelon forms.

In this paper, we propose a new probabilistic relational database model, denoted by PRDB, as an extension of the classical relational database model where the uncertainty of relational attribute values and tuples are respectively represented by finite sets and probability intervals. A probabilistic interpretation of binary relations on finite sets is proposed for the computation of their probability measures. The combination strategies on probability intervals are employed to combine attribute values and compute uncertain membership degrees of tuples in a relation.

We propose an entropy based classification of propositional calculi. Our method can be applied to finite–valued propositional logics and then, extended asymptotically to infinite–valued logics. In this paper we consider a classification depending on the number of truth values of a logic and not on the number of its designated values. Furthermore, we believe that almost the same approach can be useful in classification of finite algebras.

This paper introduces a complete extended relational database model based on probability theory and fuzzy theory, called FPRDB, for representing and handling vague and uncertain information of objects in real world applications. FPRDB is built by first extending probabilistic triples with fuzzy sets, associating the probability of such fuzzy sets for expressing and computing uncertain degree of imprecise information.

In this paper, we present a definition of fuzzy multivalued dependencies in fuzzy databases with linguistic data based on similarity relation which is built by partitioning the domain of attribute values corresponding to an appropriate hedge algebra. Some properties of fuzzy multivalued dependencies are studied. Finally, the set of inference rules is shown to be sound and complete for a relation scheme class when it satisfies some specified conditions.

Fuzzy databases with linguistic data based on hedge algebras were introduced, where the evaluation of queries containing linguistic data was transformed into that of traditional queries. On this new viewpoint, in this paper a notion of linear functional dependencies in these databases will be defined reasonably. The problems related to increasingly and decreasingly linear functional dependencies will be considered.

Here we study the architecture and characteristics of the broker network. We are using a particular internal structure for the events (defined in XML but currently implemented as a Java object). We assume a sophisticated matching of publishers and subscribers defined as general topic objects (defined by an XML Schema that we have designed). However these are not the central issues to be discussed here. Our study should be useful whether events are defined and transported in Java/RMI or XML/SOAP or other mechanisms; it does not depend on the details of matching publishers and subscribers.

Under the name of ideal circuit network, it is easy to make us understand that digital circuits are independent of the inner status and their outputs just only depend on the inputs. They are time constants and therefore Boolean algebra is a special suitable means of describing. In fact propagation delay time of circuit system should be in thought firstly in designing circuit network. In that case Boolean algebra does not seems to be fully suitable for describing actual circuit systems.

Note immediately one difference between linear equations and polynomial equations: theorems for linear equations don’t depend on which field k you are working over, 1 but those for polynomial equations depend on whether or not k is algebraically closed and (to a lesser extent) whether k has characteristic zero. Since I intend to emphasize the geometry in this course, we will work over algebraically closed fields for the major part of the course.
