  • In tropical countries, roughages feeds are the major diets of ruminant animals which are poor in quality. Hence, improving the nutritive value of feeds of such kind is vital for best utilization for ultimate goal of increased animal production. Animal feeds and feeding practices can be changed by biological catalysts such as fungi with the objective to improve nutritive value and to reduce environmental waste.

  • Recently, membrane-based separation processes, particularly electrodialysis, have attracted attention for the separation and purification of organic and amino acids from animal feedstock waste. In this study, cation exchange membranes were synthesized by making a composite of thermoplastic polyurethane and polyaniline (PANI) via the doping of various aromatic sulfonic acids, such as β-naphthol sulfonic acid and phenol sulfonic acid. The PANI was prepared using a standard method, which was further used in the composite blending at varying concentrations of 10%–20%.

  • This study assessed the effect of different proportions of alkyl/ carboxyl group ratio and alkyl side chain length on cold flow improvement on wax crystallization and biodiesel flow ability by pour point testing and dynamic viscosity measurements. Moreover, the palm oil biodiesel (PB), the waste oil biodiesel (WB), and the animal fat biodiesel (AFB) were used to test the pour point reducing ability of the synthesized CFIs.

  • This study, we could conclude that there is a high prevalence of leptospirosis in the animal population in this district. For effective prevention of the disease, one must follow routine vaccination of pets, proper sanitation and waste disposal to control the rodent population that plays a major role in transmission of leptospirosis. The need for a modified vaccine for animals as well as humans including prevalent serovars of Leptospira is being highlighted.

The disease cause general malaise, edema of the extremities, general wasting with necrosis and sloughing of the epidermis. The possibilities of mycotoxins produced from the wheat straw, dry grass or sorghum hay might be the one of the reason for this condition. The condition is usually a febrile and limits the movements of the affected animals due to painful condition of the legs.
