  • Ebook "Evolution equations of von Karman Type" is intended as a pedagogical introduction to a number of meaningful application of classical methods in nonlinear Partial Differential Equations of Evolution. The material is self-contained and most proofs are given in full detail. The interested reader will gain a deeper insight into the power of nontrivial a priori estimate methods in the qualitative study of nonlinear differential equations.

  • In this study, a control system is proposed for the induction servomotor to achieve the highprecision speed tracking based on wavelet fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller. In this proposed scheme, the wavelet fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller (WFCMAC) is used to imitate an ideal controller due to it incorporates the advantages of the wavelet decomposition property with a fuzzy CMAC fast learning ability and the smooth compensator controller with bound estimation is designed to attenuate the effect of the approximation error caused by the WFCMAC approximator.

  • In this paper, we introduce a tamed-adaptive Euler-Maruyama approximation scheme for stochastic differential equations with Markovian switching. We show that the scheme converges in L 1 -norm when applying for SDEs with locally Lipschitz continuous drift and locally Holder continuous diffusion.

  • Nutritional deficiency is a key impediment to the development of India as it impacts the growth, health and productivity of its population. The government has sponsored a Midday Meal Scheme (“MMS”), a school meal program to improve the nutritional standing of children in the country. MMS currently serves approximately 120 million children in over 1.27 million schools and is the largest such program in the world.

  • In particular, the drift coefficient blows up at 0. We first prove that this equation has a unique positive solution, and then propose a semi-implicit Euler approximation scheme for the equation, and finally show that it is also positive, and study its rate of convergence.

  • This study attempts to develop a numerical scheme for 2-D transient analysis under unsaturated conditions. First, the unsaturated groundwater flow was described using the mass conservation law. Then, the Finite Difference Method and Backward Euler approximation were applied for space and time discretization, respectively.

  • The main goal of this paper is to study selected aspects of the space-Fractional Continuum Mechanical model (s-FCM) approximation. The considerations include the in-depth analysis of three generalized finite difference schemes, which are based on: (i) The rectangle rule, (ii) the trapezoidal rule, and (iii) Simpson’s (parabolas) rule, respectively. The analysis includes the dynamic (eigenvalues) response of the 1D s-FCM body.

  • In this paper, we propose an iterative method for approximating the solution of the bilevel problem. This method bases on the result presented by Tran Viet Anh and Le Dung Muu in 2016, which is a combination between the projection method for variational inequality and the Krasnoselskii–Mann scheme for fixed points of nonexpansive mappings. The strong convergence of the method is proven. We close the paper by considering an example to illustrate the strong convergence of method.

  • Effective medium approximations are constructed in this paper to estimate the macroscopic conductivity of coated-inclusion composites with thin anisotropic coating. The two-phase coated-inclusion are substituted by equivalent one-phase inclusion, using the multi-coated spheres assemblage and the differential substitution approaches. Then, the usual effective medium approximation schemes are applied to the equivalent medium to estimate the conductivity of original three-phase composites.

  • Approximately 80% of adolescent scoliosis cases are idiopathic, and some non-idiopathic scoliosis cases caused by spinal cord abnormalities are misdiagnosed as idiopathic scoliosis. This study examined the risk factors for non-idiopathic scoliosis with intramedullary abnormalities, explored the feasibility of whole-spine MRI, and provided a theoretical basis for the routine diagnosis and treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

  • Thus, in this paper, we will construct an estimation scheme for Γ(A) based on an irregular sample {Xti, i = 0, 1, . . .} of X and study its asymptotic behavior. In particular, we first introduce an unbiased estimator for when X is a standard Brownian motion and provide a functional central limit theorem (Theorem 2.2) for the error process.

  • This study presents a novel application of mesh-free method using the smoothed-radial basis functions for the computational homogenization analysis of materials. The displacement field corresponding to the scattered nodes within the representative volume element (RVE) is split into two parts including mean term and fluctuation term, and then the fluctuation one is approximated using the integrated radial basis function (iRBF) method.

  • In this article, the considered problem of Cauchy reaction diffusion equation of fractional order is solved by using integral transform of Laplace coupled with decomposition technique due to Adomian scheme. This combination led us to a hybrid method which has been properly used to handle nonlinear and linear problems. The considered problem is used in modeling spatial effects in engineering, biology and ecology. The fractional derivative is considered in Caputo sense. The results are obtained in series form corresponding to the proposed problem of fractional order.

  • The effect of the periodic oscillation of the gravitational field, known as g-jitter, on the free convection from a vertical plate is investigated in the present paper. The problem has been simplified by the laminar boundary layer and Boussinesq approximations. The fully implicit finite-difference scheme is used to solve the dimensionless system of the governing equations. The results for laminar flow of air (Pr = 0.72) and water (Pr = 7.00) are presented for different values of the amplitudes and frequencies of the g-jitter.

  • We propose a new monotone finite-difference scheme for the second-order local approximation on a nonuniform grid that approximates the Dirichlet initial boundary value problem (IBVP) for the quasi-linear convection-diffusion equation with unbounded nonlinearity, namely, for the Gamma equation obtained by transformation of the nonlinear Black-Scholes equation into a quasilinear parabolic equation. Using the difference maximum principle, a two-sided estimate and an a priori estimate in the c-norm are obtained for the solution of the difference schemes that approximate this equation.

  • Ground improvement technique by prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) in combination with vacuum preloading is widely used to facilitate consolidation process and reduce residual settlement. However, this technique seem hardly be estimated by both analytical method and numerical method because it has complex boundary conditions (such as vacuum pressure changing with time). Moreover, lateral displacements caused by this technique are also significant problem.

  • In this article, numerical study for the fractional Cable equation which is fundamental equations for modeling neuronal dynamics is introduced by using weighted average of finite difference methods. The stability analysis of the proposed methods is given by a recently proposed procedure similar to the standard John von Neumann stability analysis. A simple and an accurate stability criterion valid for different discretization schemes of the fractional derivative and arbitrary weight factor is introduced and checked numerically.
