The equations of state (EoS) of asymmetric nuclear matter (ANM) starting from the effective potential in a one-loop approximation is investigated. The numerical computation showed that chiral symmetry is restored asymptotically at high nuclear density and liquid-gas phase transition in asymmetric nuclear matter is first-order.

A self-similarity approximation model for three-wave resonant interaction in transient backward stimulated Raman scattering (BSRS) was derived. Interestingly, as its asymptotic solution, the train of solitary backward Raman pulse train is possibly formed. This result can be considered as an increment of “single” solitons observed previously.

PAO Received 22 April 2004 This paper is concerned with a coupled system of nonlinear difference equations which is a discrete approximation of a class of nonlinear differential systems with time delays. The aim of the paper is to show the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution and to investigate the asymptotic behavior of the positive solution. Sufficient conditions are given to ensure that a unique positive equilibrium solution exists and is a global attractor of the difference system.
