Some of the most important skills of university students is to develop the capacity to resolve problems posed by their communities, which implies that students become independent, autonomous and self-regulated. Also they need to be capable of monitor, asses and modify their learning through their own process of metacognition, this way they can develop the required knowledge and improve their learning.

This paper, therefore, aimed to investigate how ninth graders at a Ho Chi Minh City-based bilingual school self-evaluated their autonomous learning skills during the use of project-based learning in a Media course. Thirty-five students were involved in responding to a questionnaire and writing diaries, and six of them participated in semi-structured interviews.

This research investigates how Schoology can facilitate students to apply autonomous learning skills in writing practice, and finds out what student desire in a writing course on Schoology to improve learner autonomy (LA). Participants of the research included 60 grade-10 students who experienced practicing writing skill on Schoology during the first 26 periods of a semester.
