Bacillus megaterium

Currently, L-asparaginase isolated from terrestrial microorganisms has been employed for anticancer industrial production. This enzyme has the function of inhibiting the growth of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphomas and other cancers. In this study, for the first time, L-asparaginase (ASNase) productive capacity of forty marine bacteria originating from Khanh Hoa sea of Viet Nam was screened and reported.

The bacteria capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen were isolated from cassava cultivated soils of Vietnam. The potential isolates were identified by analyzing the 16S rRNA gene and by morphological, biochemical, cultural characteristics. The selected isolates were assigned to the species Bacillus sp. DQT2 M17, Bacillus subtilis DTAN6 M17, and Bacillus megaterium DSHB I8.

This study was carried out to investigate the impacts of bacterial inoculation on texturally different soil samples under greenhouse conditions. Sandy loam (SL), clay loam (CL), and clay (C) textured soils were inoculated with Bacillus arenosi K64 (B. arenosi), Bacillus megaterium M3 (B. megaterium), and Bacillus subtilis OSU 142 (B. subtilis) isolates and then incubated at 5 different periods [I (20 days), II (40 days), III (60 days), IV (80 days), and V (100 days)].

This paper reviews healing materials, the self-healing process, and the mixing method of self-healing concretes using bacteria, mineral admixtures, and fibers. The bacteria such as Bacillus sphaericus, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus pasteurii, and Bacillus subtilis can produce a calcareous product for healing exterior cracks through microbial metabolic processes.

The objective of the study was to know the effect of P-solubilizer (Bacillus megaterium) and P mobilizer (Glomus mossae) and their combination with 100 and 75 per cent recommended dose of P on the yield and economics of FCV tobacco. Results showed that application of 100 per cent RDF with P solubilizer and P mobilizer each @ 6.25 ka ha-1 recorded significantly higher green leaf yield (10795 kg ha-1 ) and cured leaf yield (1060 kg ha-1 ).

Nghiên cứu này trình bày kết quả khảo sát điều kiện nuôi cấy tối ưu nhằm kích thích sự sinh trưởng và khả năng phân hủy thuốc trừ sâu chlorpyrifos của các dòng vi khuẩn hiếu khí bản địa tại Đà Lạt. Thí nghiệm khảo sát ảnh hưởng của nhiệt độ, pH, nồng độ thuốc trừ sâu chlorpyrifos lên khả năng sinh trưởng và tốc độ phân hủy chlorpyrifos của 3 chủng vi khuẩn B2 (Acinetobacter calcoaceticus), T1 (Bacillus megaterium) và W3 (Sphingomonas pseudosanguims) được tiến hành trong môi trường muối khoáng tối thiểu MSM (minimal salt medium) lỏng có bổ sung chlorpyrifos làm nguồn cacbon duy nhất.

Endophytic bacteria isolated from the Oryza sativa plant were evaluated for phosphate solubilisation. Five of these isolates that showed good phosphate solubilising activity were characterised at molecular level and tested for phosphate solubilisation using three different sources viz tricalcium phosphate (TCP), aluminium phosphate (AlPO4) and iron phosphate (FePO4). Based on 16s rRNA gene sequence analysis the isolates were identified as Pantoeaa ananatis, Pseudomonas putida, Brevibacillus agri, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus megaterium.

Biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) from raw cassava starch as the carbon source by bacteria was investigated in this study. About 300 bacterial colonies were isolated from soil samples. In this study, Bacillus megaterium D8 exhibited high promise for reducing the production cost of PHB.

A new formulation of effervescent tablets containing microbial consortium was prepared for tomato with an objective to improve its survival and effectiveness. Three agriculturally beneficial microorganisms viz. Azotobacter chroococcum, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus megaterium were used in consortium. Tablets were prepared using wet granulation method using talc or compost as diluent. Effectiveness of these inoculants formulations was studied in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) in a greenhouse.

The nursery experiment was conducted to observe influence of microbial fertilizers on growth of oil palm seedlings for two consecutive years. Azotobacter chroococcum, Azospirillum brasilense, Bacillus megaterium, Frateuria aurantia and Glomus aggregatum were the microbial fertilizers used individually, combindly and integrated with chemical fertilizers. All the treatments were found markedly superior to the control with respect to morphological and growth characters of oil palm seedlings.
