CdTe-based quantum dots (QDs) have been used as active materials in various applications, such as sensing, imaging, and light-harvesting devices where the QDs are continuously illuminated by suitable lights. Passivation of CdTe QDs with stable inorganic layers to form core/shell or core/multiple-shell structures has been demonstrated to improve the stabilities of QDs against illumination.

In this research the effect of ground proximity on the lift, drag and moment coefficients of inverted, two-dimensional aerofoils was investigated. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect ground proximity on aerofoils post stall, in an effort to evaluate the use of active aerodynamics to increase the performance of a race car. The aerofoils were tested at angles of attack ranging from 0° – 135°. The tests were performed at a Reynolds number of 2.16 x 105 based on chord length. Forces were calculated via the use of pressure taps along the centreline of the aerofoils.

The objective of the present study is to produce base layer winter active sportswear fabrics using natural and synthetic fibres and their blends which will deliver good comfort properties. Polyester, wool and bamboo fibres were selected for this study. Polyester is the most common fibre used in sportswear, wool is increasingly being used in sportswear and bamboo is a relatively new fibre that offers properties suitable for base layer sportswear. This research aims to extend the understanding of contingency theory and the factors influencing Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and Activity-Based Budgeting (ABB) system implementation in developing economies. Using qualitative case-based methods, the unique features of ABC/ABB implementation in three large Thai companies from telecommunications, banking and oil industries were investigated. Interviews were conducted with key personnel involved with the implementation process. The Telecommunications Company and Bank implemented ABC and the Oil Company implemented ABB.
