The study was carried out according to the single-factor experimental method to determine the main working parameters of the aerodynamic sowing unit combined with the inclined disc. The results showed that an inclined seed disc is more effective than a vertical one in receiving and holding seeds during the sowing process.

This paper proposed solutions for profiling the disc tool in machining a helical cylindrical surface with constant pitch. A section method has been developed in AutoCAD environment together with a Boolean operation. Especially, this work presented a computational problem of determining the any section of a helical surface, while other documents only refer to the section along axis and cross section. The authors used a combinative method of analytics, graphics and programming to solve that problem, applying in designing cutting tool for machining helical cylindrical surfaces.

Extended spectrum beta lactamase producers are posing a major obstacle in the therapeutic outcome of patients. They cause enzymatic hydrolysis of the beta lactum ring, resulting in resistance to penicillins and cephalosporins. The rise in ESBL producers results in prolonged treatment which leads to increased hospital stay and financial burden on the patient. It is necessary for all the hospitals to monitor ESBL producers to formulate preventive and therapeutic measures accordingly. The study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital during the period from December 2015 to November 2016.

Antimicrobial resistance is a growing threat worldwide. Increasing resistance to third generation cephalosporins has become a cause for concern. The prevalence of extended spectrum–lactamases (ESBLs) and metallobetalactamases (MBL) among members of Enterobacteriaceae constitutes a serious threat to current -lactam therapy leading to treatment failure. A total of 276 Gram negative isolates were processed. ESBL was detected by phenotypic confirmatory disc diffusion test (PCDDT) using ceftazidime alone and in combination with clavulanic acid.

Acinetobacter the aerobic non fermenting GNCB are emerging as important pathogens in health care associated infection, exhibiting increased antimicrobial resistance by virtue of multiple resistant mechanisms with practically no therapeutic options. The objective was to determine the multitude of resistant mechanisms by phenotypic and genotypic characterization and the prevalent antimicrobial susceptibility pattern. 175 clinically significant non-duplicate Acinetobacter isolates were included.

The aim of this study was to analyze the extended spectrum of β lactamase (ESBL), metallo β lactamase (MBL) and AmpC production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa in various clinical samples. A Total of 100 clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa were collected from different clinical specimen and confirmed by standard tests. Antibiotic susceptibility was determined by the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. ESBL screening was done using 3rd generation cephalosporins and confirmatory combined double disc test, imipenem-EDTA double disc synergy test for MBL enzyme and AmpC test using Cefoxitin disc.

Non fermenting Gram Negative Bacilli (NFGNB) once considered as contaminants, now emerged as a major cause of life threatening nosocomial infections and as multidrug resistant pathogens. Acinetobacter species are the opportunistic pathogens with increasing prevalance in the nosocomial infections. Community acquired infections are also common in Acinetobacter. It accounts for 10% of all community-acquired bacteremic pneumonias. To isolate, identify and detect Carbapenem resistance producing Acinetobacter spp., and confirm Metallo Beta Lactamase ( MBL) production by phenotypic methods.

Resistance to carbapenems is an emerging problem among Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates. A simple and effective phenotypic detection method for carbapenemase production is required in health care settings. A total of 100 clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae from various samples were screened for imipenem resistance. The imipenem resistant strains were further tested for metallo-beta-lactamase (MBL) production by imipenem combined disc test and ceftazidime combined disc test.

In the present study 105 numbers of microbial isolates were isolated from 96 milk samples and were processed as per routine method of microbial isolation. Various types of tea extracts like black tea and green tea were used in combination with antibiotic discs obtained from HiMedia, Mumbai. The synergistic effects of antibiotics and tea extracts against resistant bovine pathogens lead to new choices for development of combination therapy during chronic mastitis.

Metallo beta-lactamase (MBL) and biofilm production is the most worrisome resistant mechanisms observed in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Increased resistance of Pseudomonas to antibiotic therapy is an emerging global health concern which can be overcomed by Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). Therefore this study aims to evaluate the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity of Silver nanoparticles on MBL and biofilm producing P. aeruginosa isolates using Transmission Electron microscope (TEM) and Confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) respectively. A total 40 isolates of p.

Neonatal calf diarrhoea (NCD) is a major threat to dairy industries. It is a multi-etiology disease with E. coli as the predominant cause. Emergence of antimicrobial resistance is of utmost concern because it has rendered the present day antibiotics less effective. The present study aims for isolation, molecular characterization and antimicrobial resistant profiling of E. coli from neonatal calves. One hundred two fecal samples were collected from neonatal calves for isolation of E. coli. All the isolates showed positive result on biochemical analysis. But only 78.

One of the common causes of morbidity and mortality following burn injury is infections. The emergence of metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) in Gram negative bacilli (GNB) has reduced the available therapeutic options for effective treatment. Therefore, for screening of carbapenemase producers, a simple and inexpensive testing method is essential. To know the prevalence of MBL production in various gram negative isolates, to evaluate different phenotypic methods to detect MBL production and to find out antibiotic sensitivity profile of MBL producing gram negative bacilli.

Carbapenem antibiotics are very often used against multidrug resistant strains clinically troublesome pathogens which developed and proved that the resistance and metallo-βlactamases (MBL) production were a disaster in treating infections. The identification and detection of MBL-producing bacterial strains were having crucial importance for the prevention of nosocomial infections. Therefore the present study was undertaken for screening MBL production Gram Negative bacteria.

Non-fermenting gram-negative bacilli (NFGNB) are an emerging problem in Blood stream infections. A major concern is multi-drug resistance which severely limits treatment options. Earlier it was believed to be non pathogenic, but recently they are more frequently isolated as primary pathogen. Usually they cause hospital acquired infection (HAI). A prospective study was conducted to isolate the NFGNB from blood samples, to identify the risk factors leading to blood stream infections and to determine the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of them.
