  • The present investigation was planned to evaluate fruit quality parameters in different chilli genotypes. So those, the present identify suitable genotype for early planting. In this study, compare the yield performance along with physiological and biochemical parameters of early and timely sown hot pepper genotypes. On the basis of physiological, biochemical parameters and yield, genotype PL-412 performed best and can be used for breeding programs for chilli production for early season crop.

  • Indian jujube or ber (Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk.) is one of the most common fruit of Rajasthan as well as India. Powdery mildew of ber incited by Oidium erysiphoides f. sp. ziziphi, Yan and Wang is the most important disease that causes maximum reduction in yield and quality of ber fruits. An increase in total phenols and decline in total soluble solids and ascorbic acid content were observed in fruits of infected plants at peanut and immature stages with Oidium erysiphoides f. sp. ziziphi compared to the healthy ones.

  • The studies were carried out to evaluate the biochemical changes in the groundnut seeds stored in different locations, storage conditions and containers during 12 months of storage. Result from the study indicated that the Bagalkot produced seeds stored in cold storage conditions and packed in vacuum pack maintained higher seed quality parameters viz., higher oil content (47.78 %), protein content (31.19 %) and lower lipase (0.53 µ moles min-1 ) and protease activity (0.

  • A low cost solar rack dryer was fabricated with an aim to popularise hygienic drying of fish among fisherwomen and it was evaluated for drying of Anchovy (Stolephorus commersonii) at Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was observed that on an average the solar dryer attained 17.5 % higher temperature than the ambient temperature. Within a total drying time of 13 h, the moisture content of the fish reduced from about 81.97% to 28.87% and 34.43% by the solar rack dryer and open sun drying respectively.

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the nutritional quality and value addition of Black gram grown in H.P. Three cultivars/varieties of Black gram viz. UG-218, HIM MASH and Local cultivar were taken for the study. The various biochemical parameters studied were physico-chemical characteristics, proximate compositional, nutritional quality, functional properties and anti-nutritional constituents. The results of the investigation showed that UG-218 had maximum length, breadth and 1000 seed weight as compared to HIM MASH and Local cultivar.

  • The experiment was conducted to determine the enhancement of seedling vigour through bio priming for barnyard millet. Seeds of barnyard millet var. MDU 1 were bioprimed with water, Azophos, Pseudomonas fluroscens, PPFM and the combinations of Azophos+ Pseudomonas fluroscens at 20% concentration for 8 h. Bio- primed seeds were evaluated for its germination, seedling length, vigour index, dehydrogenase, α-amylase and microbial count.
