  • N-acetyltransferase 13 (NAT13) is a probable catalytic component of the ARD1A-NARG1 complex possessing alpha (N-terminal) acetyltransferase activity. Results: In this study, a full-length complementary DNA (cDNA) encoding Schistosoma japonicum NAT13 (SjNAT13) was isolated from schistosome cDNAs. The 621bp open reading frame of SjNAT13 encodes a polypeptide of 206 amino acids.

  • High-throughput assays for measuring the three-dimensional (3D) configuration of DNA have provided unprecedented insights into the relationship between DNA 3D configuration and function. Data interpretation from assays such as ChIA-PET and Hi-C is challenging because the data is large and cannot be easily rendered using standard genome browsers.

  • Genotyping of the human leucocyte antigen (HLA) is indispensable for various medical treatments. However, unambiguous genotyping is technically challenging due to high polymorphism of the corresponding genomic region. Next-generation sequencing is changing the landscape of genotyping. In addition to high throughput of data, its additional advantage is that DNA templates are derived from single molecules, which is a strong merit for the phasing problem.

  • The beauty and power of the genome editing mechanism, CRISPR Cas9 endonuclease system, lies in the fact that it is RNA-programmable such that Cas9 can be guided to any genomic loci complementary to a 20-nt RNA, single guide RNA (sgRNA), to cleave double stranded DNA, allowing the introduction of wanted mutations. Unfortunately, it has been reported repeatedly that the sgRNA can also guide Cas9 to off-target sites where the DNA sequence is homologous to sgRNA.

  • The algorithm uses a Complementary table with four values corresponding with data bits ‘00’, ‘01’, ‘10’, and ‘11’, so that, we can embed two bits for each nucleotide. Moreover, with four levels of Complementary values, the algorithm shows that the proposed method also improve the security for hidden data.

  • Curcuma aromatica, the herbal medicine belongs to Zingiberaceae family, is well known for antitumor activity through multiple pathways and a potential candidate for complementary medicine in cancer treatment. The aims of this study were to distinguish between Curcuma species based on polymorphisms of the nucleotide sequence of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) and preliminarily analyze their potential-anticancer compounds.

  • The molecular recognition based on the complementary base pairing of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the fundamental principle in the fields of genetics, DNA nanotechnology and DNA computing. We present an exhaustive DNA sequence design algorithm that allows to generate sets containing a maximum number of sequences with defined properties.

  • The second Chargaff’s parity rule and its extensions are recognized as universal phenomena in DNA sequences. However, parity of the frequencies of reverse complementary oligonucleotides could be a mere consequence of the single nucleotide parity rule, if nucleotide independence is assumed.

  • The mechanism of benzimidazoles resistance is linked to single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on beta-tubulin isotype-1 gene. The three known SNPs responsible for BZ resistance are F200Y, F167Y and E198A on the beta-tubulin isotype-1. The present study was aimed to characterize beta-tubulin isotype-1 gene of Bunostomum trigonocephalum, for identifying variations on possible mutation sites. The adult parasites were collected from Mukteswar, Uttarakhand. The parasites were thoroughly examined morphologically and male parasites were subjected for RNA isolation.

  • For the first time, the detection of DNA sequences, related to HIV (found in AIDS patients), using Methylene Blue (MB) as the redox indicator was performed. The voltametric signals have been investigated on bared chitosan (CS) modified; probe immobilized (DNA single strand) and target-hybridized (DNA double strand) electrodes sequentially by means of Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Square Wave Voltammetry (SWV). The response of hybridization between the probe and perfectly complementary, double-base mismatch, single-base mismatch of analyzed targets were clearly identified.

  • A complementary DNA encoding a new bovine tryptase isoform (here named BLT) was cloned and sequenced from lung tissue. Analysis of sequence indicates the pres-ence of a 26-amino acid prepro-sequence and a 245 amino acid catalytic domain. It contains six different residues when compared with the previously characterized tryptase from bovine liver capsule (BLCT), with the most signifi-cant difference residing at the primary specificity S1 pocket.

  • We report here a new method for inhibition of RNA viruses induced by dsDNA. We demonstrated that both long dsDNA molecules and short interfering DNA with a sequence complementary to that of viral RNA inhibited tobacco mosaic virus expression and prevented virus spread. Also, the expression of the HIV-1 gp41 gene in HeLa cells was inhibited by com-plementary short interfering DNA.

  • To keep our analysis focused, we abstract from other channels emphasized in the literature through which expectations may have an immediate impact on current economic activity such as time-to-build, capital adjustment costs, or consumption smoothing. Also, it should be clear that we do not believe that the economic expansion experienced by the U.S. economy during the second half of the 1990s was entirely driven by expectations of future higher productivity growth.

  • Different PHI functions give rise to specific policy challenges. Primary PHI markets often create access-related challenges, especially for high-risk and vulnerable groups, where they represent the sole form of cover for some population groups.15 Where public and private delivery systems are linked to different funding sources, as in systems with duplicate private health insurance, differences in access to care, choice levels and utilisation patterns occur between individuals with and without private insurance.
