Complex polynomial

In this article, based on the paper “Ha Huy Vui, Nguyen Hong Duc. On the Lojasiewicz exponent near the fibre of polynomial mappings, Ann. Polon. Math. 94 (2008), 43-52”, we give a different algorithm computing Newton - Puiseux roots of a complex polynomial in two variables. This algorithm is more effective in practice.

In this paper, we present a novel global protein-protein interaction network alignment algorithm, which is enhanced with an extended large neighborhood search heuristics. Evaluated on benchmark datasets of yeast, fly, human and worm, the proposed algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms. Furthermore, the complexity of ours is polynomial, thus being scalable to large biological networks in practice.

We consider a specialization of an untwisted quantum affine algebra of type ADE at a nonzero complex number, which may or may not be a root of unity. The Grothendieck ring of its finite dimensional representations has two bases, simple modules and standard modules. We identify entries of the transition matrix with special values of “computable” polynomials, similar to Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. At the same time we “compute” q-characters for all simple modules. The result is based on “computations” of Betti numbers of graded/cyclic quiver varieties.
