In the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), inflammation plays an important role. However, it is unclear whether there is a causal link between inflammation and MPNs. We used a bidirectional, two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to investigate the causal relationship between systemic inflammatory cytokines and myeloproliferative neoplasms.

The paper aims to estimate the effect of financial statement reliability on listed firms’ performance in Vietnam, particularly on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, from 2015 to 2022. Reliability is a crthe listedattribute of information quality in financial statements, and by using the quantitative method (feasible generalized least squares – FGLS), the findings show that reliability positively affects listed firms’ performance with a confidence interval of 95%.

In this book you will find the basics of probability theory and statistics. In addition, there are several topics that go somewhat beyond the basics but that ought to be present in an introductory course: simulation, the Poisson process, the law of large numbers, and the central limit theorem. Computers have brought many changes in statistics. In particular, the bootstrap has earned its place. It provides the possibility to derive confidence intervals and perform tests of hypotheses where traditional (normal approximation or large sample) methods are inappropriate.

This study conducted confidence interval estimation to assess variation in the fat content of hamburger samples from a restaurant, using Minitab. The standard for mean fat content was set at 15 grams as per accepted regulatory requirements, with a standard deviation of 1 gram. In this study twenty samples were selected at random and statistical process control was determined by the individual moving range (I-MR) test. The I-MR chart conducted on twenty individual hamburger samples showed that the fat content was in statistical process control.

Prostate, bladder and kidney cancers are common age-related genitourinary cancers. China’s population is aging at an increasing rate, so predicting the morbidity and mortality of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer in China is of great significance to provide epidemiological evidence for forward planning and implementation of national health policies.

Previous studies confirmed that ground-glass nodules (GGNs) with certain CT manifestations had a higher probability of malignancy. However, differentiating patchy ground-glass opacities (GGOs) and GGNs has not been discussed solely. This study aimed to investigate the differences between the CT features of benign and malignant patchy GGOs to improve the differential diagnosis.

In low-resource settings with weak health systems, the WHO recommends clinical breast examination (CBE) as the most cost-effective breast screening modality for women. Evidence shows that biennial CBE leads to significant downstaging of breast cancer in all women. This study investigated the prevalence and factors associated with the uptake of CBE among women of reproductive age in Lesotho.
