Linear matching method (LMM) is one of the effective numerical methods for the limit and shakedown analysis, which computes the converging upper series by solving iteratively linear elastic analysis with Young’s modulus varying in space.

This thesis aims to develop finite element models for studying vibration of the 2D-FGM beam. These models require high reliability, good convergence speed and be able to evaluate the influence of material parameters, geometric parameters as well as being able to simulate the effect of shear deformation on vibration characteristics and dynamic responses of the 2D-FGM beam.

Cloning and over-expression of human glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (Glc6P dehydrogenase) has for the first time allowed a detailed kinetic study of a preparation that is genetically homogeneous and in which all the protein molecules are of identical age. The steady-state kinetics of the recombinant enzyme, studied by fluorimetric initial-rate measurements, gave converging linear Lineweaver–Burk plots as expected for a ternary-complex mechanism.

We describehere anovelmethodology for rapiddiagnosis of metabolic changes, which is basedonprobabilistic equations that relate GC-MS-derived mass distributions in proteino-genic aminoacids toin vivoenzyme activities. Thismetabolic flux ratio analysis by GC-MS provides a comprehensive perspective on central metabolism by quantifying 14 ratios of fluxes through converging pathways and reactions from [1-13 C] and [U-13 C]glucose experiments.

Endocytic and biosynthetic trafficking pathways to the lysosome⁄vacuole converge at the prevacuolar endosomal compartment. During transport through this compartment, integral membrane proteins that are destined for delivery to the lysosome⁄vacuole lumen undergo multivesicular body (MVB) sorting into internal vesicles formed by invagination of the endo-somal limiting membrane.

We characterize precisely the possible rate of decay of the anti-analytic half of a trigonometric series converging to zero almost everywhere. 1. Introduction 1.1. In 1916, D. E. Menshov constructed an example of a nontrivial trigonometric series on the circle T ∞ (1) n=−∞ c(n)eint which converges to zero almost everywhere (a.e.). Such series are called nullseries. This result was the origin of the modern theory of uniqueness in Fourier analysis, see [Z59], [B64], [KL87], [KS94]. Clearly for such a series |c(n)|2 = ∞.

For the complex parabolic Ginzburg-Landau equation, we prove that, asymptotically, vorticity evolves according to motion by mean curvature in Brakke’s weak formulation. The only assumption is a natural energy bound on the initial data. In some cases, we also prove convergence to enhanced motion in the sense of Ilmanen. Introduction In this paper we study the asymptotic analysis, as the parameter ε goes to zero, of the complex-valued parabolic Ginzburg-Landau equation for functions uε :

We present an analysis of bounded-energy low-tension maps between 2-spheres. By deriving sharp estimates for the ratio of length scales on which bubbles of opposite orientation develop, we show that we can establish a ‘quantization estimate’ which constrains the energy of the map to lie near to a discrete energy spectrum. One application is to the asymptotics of the harmonic map flow; we find uniform exponential convergence in time, in the case under consideration.

Convergence of Online Learning Algorithms in Neural Networks An analysis of convergence of real-time algorithms for online learning in recurrent neural networks is presented. For convenience, the analysis is focused on the real-time recurrent learning (RTRL) algorithm for a recurrent perceptron. Using the assumption of contractivity of the activation function of a neuron and relaxing the rigid assumptions of the fixed optimal weights of the system, the analysis presented is general and is applicable to a wide range of existing algorithms....

Stability Issues in RNN Architectures Perspective The focus of this chapter is on stability and convergence of relaxation realised through NARMA recurrent neural networks. Unlike other commonly used approaches, which mostly exploit Lyapunov stability theory, the main mathematical tool employed in this analysis is the contraction mapping theorem (CMT), together with the fixed point iteration (FPI) technique. This enables derivation of the asymptotic stability (AS) and global asymptotic stability (GAS) criteria for neural relaxive systems.
