In this study, a computerized game was programmed in PsyhoPy2, and then validated by correlating 49 participants’ game performances with several creativity measures, including divergent thinking, convergent thinking and insight problem solving. The results suggest that divergent thinking is central and necessary for game performance. Potential for an effective gamification approach and possible improvements for the game training was finally discussed.

The selection of optimal portfolios is the central problem of financial investment decisions. Mathematically speaking, portfolio selection refers to the formulation of an objective function that determines the weights of the portfolio invested in each asset as to maximize return and minimize risk. This paper applies the method of genetic algorithm (GA) to obtain an optimal portfolio selection. Novice users engaged in task-oriented dialogues with an adviser to learn how to use an unfamiliar statistical package. The users', task was analyzed and a task structure was derived. The task structure was used to segment the dialogue into subdialogues associated with the subtasks of the overall task. The representation of the dialogue structure into a hierarchy of subdialogues, partly corresponding to the task structure, was validated by three converging analyses.

But each is valid under different circumstances—in different regimes. In both circumstances, we initiate our traders with heterogeneous beliefs clustered randomly in an interval near homogeneous rational expectations. We find that if our agents adapt their forecasts very slowly to new observations of the market’s behavior, the market converges to a rational-expectations regimes.
