In this work, the electrochemical behavior of carbon steel, brass, bronze and aluminum alloys in the presence of various important organic acids (sebacic acid (SbA), terephthalic (TPA), 2-ethylhexanoic (E2C6A), and octanoic (C8A)) and the effect that these have on the growth and protectiveness of the alloys have been investigated.

In the present study, a complex between 8-hydroxyquinoline and cerium (III) (CeHQ) was synthesized in the presence of triethylamine. Afterwards, the complex was characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The inhibition efficiency of the Ce-HQ complex for the corrosion of carbon steel, evaluated by both Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Potentiodynamic Polarization (PP) plots, reached 90 % after 2 h of immersion in a 0.01 M NaCl solution.

This paper presents a simple process of fabricating a superhydrophobic carbon steel surface with high water repellence and good corrosion resistance. The steel surface was covered by thin ZnO layers via various methods of sol-gel method, hydrothermal synthesis, and electrochemical deposition, then further functionalised with methyl trichlorosilane.

Curcumin modified graphene oxide (GO-CR) was prepared using the adsorption method and polyurethane (PU) coating containing 0.3 wt% GO-CR was prepared on carbon steel. Synthesized GO-CR was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and zeta potential measurement. Corrosion protection property of polyurethane coating containing GO-CR was evaluated and compared with that of blank polyurethane coating and coating containing GO by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

The impact of immersion time on the morphology and the composition of ZrO2/silane film was evaluated and the effect of ZrO2/silane pretreatment on corrosion protection of powder coating was studied.

Investigation of cerium (III) activated-ceria nanoparticles as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel
The present work investigated the corrosion protection performance of Ce(III) activated-cerium(IV) oxide nanoparticles for carbon steel in a NaCl solution. Ceria nanoparticles were synthesized by homogeneous precipitation in ethanol/water mixed solvent. The obtained CeO2 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM).
