  • The 3D printing PMMA/ZrO2 filaments with a diameter of 1.75±0.05 mm were fabricated by using a single-screw extruder at temperatures of four heating zones of 190, 200, 210, and 210°C. Testing samples were prepared from the extruded filaments by using a fusion deposition modeling 3D printer and a Haake MiniJet piston injection molding machine. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mechanical properties, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analysis of the filaments were investigated.

  • This project investigates the use of free radical initiators in the recycling of post consumer recycled high density polyethylene using reactive extrusion. Both molecular and rheological characterisation of recycled and reprocessed materials was carried out and this was followed by tensile testing of the modified materials to satisfy end use applications such as packaging and drainage piping.

  • Salt hydrates, classified as inorganic phase change materials, are used in thermal energy storage (TES) systems. Due to their superior properties such as higher thermal conductivity and better thermal energy storage density, non-flammability and availability in wide temperature ranges at a reasonable cost than organic PCMs, salt hydrates are preferable PCMs.

  • Polyurethane foams have good shock-absorbing properties. This article discusses the study of the physical, dynamic analysis, and microstructure of filled polyurethane foams (PUR). We used mineral fillings nanoparticles of titanium dioxide (TiO2 ) and calcium carbonate (C1) to support and strengthen the foam cell structure to develop shock absorption and thermal resistance properties. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and compression tests compared the mechanic characterization results with different modelling approaches.

  • The identification of the defects and secondary phases which significantly affect the material properties are of crucial importance. In this study, a systematic structure examination of PbTiO3 and cobalt doped PbTiO3 powder ceramics was carried out. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), Raman, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies were applied along with nonsimultaneous thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

  • Coordination-driven self-assembly of nickel (II) ions with equimolar amounts of 1, 10 phenanthroline, and benzoic acid was used to create homonuclear nickel (II) MOF-type supramolecule. Single crystal X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, photoluminescence measurement, FT-IR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and nitrogen physisorption measurement were used to characterize the compound. The single crystal X-ray diffraction study reveals that the synthesized compound is twodimensional with pores in the structure.

  • In this study, single-side polypyrrole (PPy) coated conductive stretchable polyurethane (PU) / PPy composite films were synthesized by chemical oxidative method in the acetonitrile (ACN)/H2 O interface as a new alternative to two-side coated PU films which have already reported in the literature. One surface of the PU film was contacted with aqueous Py solution and the other surface with cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN) solution in ACN, so that only one surface of the film was coated with PPy and the resulting composite was named PU/PPy (PUP).

  • Retrograded starch is known to be resistant to digestion. We used enzyme kinetic experiments to examine how retrogradation of starch affects amylolysis catalysed by porcine pancreatic amylase. Parallel studies employing differential scanning calorimetry, infra red spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and NMR spectroscopy were performed to monitor changes in supramolecular structure of gelatinised starch as it becomes retrograded.

A kinetic study of the extraction shows that the optimal duration of extraction was obtained with the polymer that has more chlorine atoms substituted by diethylenetriamine groups. The influence of metal extraction on the infrared spectra, differential scanning calorimetry diagrams, and X-ray diffraction of metal-loaded polymers was also studied.
