  • Borotellurite glasses were prepared by melt quenching technique. Amorphous nature of samples was confirmed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. Effect of B2O3 content on the structure of glass network was studied through Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectra. Optical band gap and Urbach energy were found from analysis of optical absorption spectra. Thermal studies were carried out by using Differential thermal analyzer (DTA) measurements.

  • Hybrid materials based on tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC), or hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) with silver nanoparticles were synthesized. They were analyzed and characterized using differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry, atomic force microscopy, and static contact angle measurements.

  • Nitrilotriacetic acid functionalized Adansonia digitata (NFAD) biosorbent has been synthesized using a simple and novel method. NFAD was characterized by X-ray Diffraction analysis technique (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analyzer, Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer (FTIR), particle size dispersion, zeta potential, elemental analysis (CHNS/O analyzer), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).

  • The differential thermal analysis of the quenched samples revealed decrease in the thermal effects by adding P2O5 and/or MnO2 to the base sample. The X-ray diffraction patterns show the development of nanometric magnetite crystals in a glassy matrix. Heat treatment at 800 C for 2 h, under reducing atmosphere, caused an increase in the amount of the crystallized magnetite with the appearance of minor hematite and Ca2SiO4. The transmission electron microscope revealed a crystallite size in the range 10–30 nm.

  • In this paper, we analyze the heat and mass transfer of MHD visco-elastic flow through porous medium in presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction over an exponentially stretching sheet. The governing equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations by using suitable similarity transformations. By using Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM), the transformed equations are solved analytically.
