natural fiber for the construction of hybrid bio-composites. In the current research project, a thorough analysis of the use of soy-PF resin for the creation of composites reinforced with jute was conducted. A novel and practical cutlery material was created after the mechanical properties were evaluated and optimized. In order to study the value addition of these newly proposed biocomposite materials as an ecological alternative in terms of natural resources versus synthetic resources, variables such as hardness, cytotoxicity, and degrading qualities of composites were also explored.

Degradation of antibiotic sulfamethoxazole in aqueous media by UVA/TiO2 pure-brookite photocatalysis
The appearance of antibiotic sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in natural environments poses a potential risk to human health and ecology. Among many developed treatment techniques to remove and degrade SMX from an aqueous environment, photodegradation using the phase-pure TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in brookite structure as an active photocatalyst could be considered as a novel and effective strategy.

The tourism industry is globally a rapid developing one. Through sustainable tourism, social dislocation, loss of cultural heritage, economic dependence and ecological degradation are reduced. This paper discusses the sustainable tourism in Hanoi. As the capital city of Vietnam, Hanoi is fast growing developed in different aspects, becoming an attractive destination for not only the internal but also the external tourists.

Apart from being the most urbanized and largest emitter of CO2 emissions in Africa, South Africa currently harbours an ecological deficit territory mainly due to its desire to attain more growth with less attention to its natural environment. Since environmental distortions are mainly an outcome of human activities, this study becomes the first to investigate the linkage between natural resource (NR), human capital, energy consumption, and ecological footprint (EF) in South Africa.

The autoplaque or autolysis of bacterial cell influences the evolutionary potential of clinically important bacteria. It serves as a selection pressure on a bacterial community and provides social goods (nutrients, secondary metabolites, free DNA) in environment. Therefore, it has a major impact on the ecological fitness of microbial communities; however its prevalence in microbial communities of degraded ecosystems is not known.

In this study we examined diversity and activities of some actinomycetes isolated from mangroves in Giao Thuy, Nam Dinh Province. The distribution of actinomycetes in soil is strongly affected by external factors. Extra-cellular enzyme producing ability of mangrove actinomycetes is very high, particularly the ability of producing cellulase degrading filter paper (122/128 strains), CMC (110/128 strains), protease (83/128 strains) and amylase (78/128 strains).

The paper conceptualizes rurbanization to bridge the gap in the research that emanates from the propensity of urban megapolises to create clutter, which results in degraded ecology, air pollution, health hazards, lower quality of life, gender inequity, and vulnerability to natural disasters. This has exacerbated during the current global pandemic. As de-covidating initiatives are unleashed, the energy access would need appropriate and manageable scale. Urbanization cannot be sustained without a robust rural interface.

The present study was conducted to assess the floristics, structure and diversity of dry tropical forests in buffer zone of Achanakmaar-Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve. The biosphere is well recognized for its species richness and biological diversity. However, the increasing anthropogenic activities are causing rapid degradation of native ecosystem, especially the buffer and transition zones are severely affected and becoming ecologically fragile by disappearance of many valuable species. A line transect survey was conducted for inventorying floristic composition.

With the exploding human population, India will have to utilise all its avenues for increasing its food production. Fishes form an important element in the economy of many nations as they form a staple item in the diet of many people Most of the water bodies which form the major life support systems of many organisms are facing ecological degradation today due to irrational interference and unsustainable developments. As fish constitute almost half of the total number of vertebrates, it is very important that their diversity is preserved.

Trees belonging to the Casuarinaceae and Betulaceae families play an important ecological role and are useful tools in forestry for degraded land rehabilitation and reforestation. These functions are linked to their capacity to establish symbiotic relationships with a nitrogen-fixing soil bacterium of the genus Frankia.

The paper introduces a numerical modeling of Voraxial Separator using Ansys Fluent. The Voraxial can specifically be used to separate contaminants, such as oil and sand from large volumes of liquids and without any pressure drop, enabling itself to be utilized in many different applications, both offshore and onshore.

Microorganisms play important roles in the recycling of agricultural wastes. Composting is the degradation of organic materials through the activities of diverse microorganisms. The compost generated by bioconversion of agro-residues offers several benefits such as enhanced soil fertility and soil health which can lead to increased agricultural productivity, improved soil biodiversity, reduced ecological risks and a healthier environment. This investigation examined the microbial community dynamics, loads and identification of microbiota at various stages of composting process.

The study was conducted in two different ecological zones of Haryana to determine the farmers’ awareness towards zero tillage to conserve the soil as the degradation is increasing day by day. A group of 240 respondents were interviewed with help of a well - designed interview schedule. The responses of farmers were obtained on three-point continuum scale as ‘fully aware’ ‘aware’ and ‘not aware’ against each statement and weight age were given as 3, 2 and 1, respectively.

Agricultural intensification is placing tremendous pressure on the soil’s capacity to maintain its functions leading to large-scale ecosystem degradation and loss of productivity in the long term. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find early indicators of soil health degradation in response to agricultural management. Our purpose was to review the literature in which a wide perspective of soil quality and the complex task of its assessment, considering the inherent and dynamic factors, are introduced.
