The present study investigated the photodegradation of 2,4- Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) in a water environment using synthesized titania nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs). The TiO2-NPs fabricated by sol-gel method were distinguished by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), and zeta potential measurements.

Vietnam experiences increasing droughts throughout the dry season due to climate change, global warming, and human-caused activities like urbanization and deforestation. Drought hazard significantly impacts socioeconomic, agriculture, and the environment; it directly threatens human lives, livelihoods, food security, and environmental degradation.

The general policy implication is that environmental policies should not be uniform for all countries. Environmental policy must be country‐and polluter‐specific to solve environmental problems faced by a country. A well‐designed environmental policy should reflect the specific needs of a country, considering the country’s level of economic development as well as specific environmental pollutants.

The aim of the work "Stochastic service life prediction of RC girders subjected to chloride induced corrosion – Shear limit state" presented in this thesis is service life prediction of corroded reinforced concrete girders, which forms an important part of durability design. The scope of this work is limited to shear limit state considering the chloride induced corrosion of reinforcement as the degradation mechanism. The review of literature shows that the service life estimation of reinforced concrete bridges exposed to marine environment is an active area of research.

Environment degradation is the major threat confronting the world and rampant use of chemical fertilizer contribute largely to the deterioration of the environment. Soil fertility highly affected due to imbalance use of fertilizers that has deep impact on productivity and soil degradation. This study gives an idea to identification of effects of variable diet on growth and reproduction of Eisenia fetida which leads to enhancement of soil quality.

The metalloendopeptidase 24.15 (EP24.15) is ubiquitously present in the extracellular environment as a secreted protein. Outside the cell, this enzyme degrades several neuropeptides containing from 5 to 17 amino acids (e.g. gonadotropin releasing hormone, bradykinin, opioids and neuro-tensin). The constitutive secretion of EP24.15 from glioma C6 cells was demonstrated to be stimulated linearly by reduced concentrations of extra-cellular calcium.

Receptors should be properly analysed in view of the microenvironment in which they are embedded. Therefore, the concept of ‘receptosome’ was for-mulated to the complex interactions taking place between receptors and other proteins at the plasma membrane level, and to explain very heteroge-neous or divergent cellular responses to common epigenetic factors and modifications to the extracellular environment.

Natural polyamines (putrescine, spermidine, and spermine) self-assemble in a simulated physiological environment (50 mmsodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.2), generating in vitro nuclear aggregates of polyamines (ivNAPs). These supramolecular compounds are similar in structure and molecular mass to naturally occurring cellular nuclear aggregates of polyamines, and they share the ability of NAPs to interact with and protect the genomic DNA against nuclease degradation.
