In this paper, a robust hierarchical method for trajectory tracking control of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) subjected to parameter uncertainties and external disturbances is presented. A robust control scheme based on a fast nonsingular terminal sliding mode strategy is designed to achieve fast response and excellent tracking accuracy. Moreover, a radial basis function artificial neural network with online adaptive schemes to estimate unknown aerodynamic parameters and external disturbances is developed to improve the control performance and reduce the chattering phenomenon.

This paper proposes a fuzzy adaptive second order sliding mode controller for 2D overhead crane model to improve the quality of position tracking, anti-swing in case existence of external disturbances. The sliding surface parameters are adjusted by a fuzzy logic system to change the sliding surface in order to track faster and make the payload oscillation smaller. The simulation results show that the system quality is improved and the applicability of the proposed controller in industrial practice.

In this paper, Lagrange formula is employed with the purpose of modelling both the kinematics and dynamics of a nonholonomic wheeled mobile robot (WMR) subject to unknown wheel slips, model uncertainties such as unstructured unmodelled dynamic components, and unknown external disturbances such as unknown external forces.
