Around 200 different lipopeptides (LPs) have been identified to date, most of which are produced via Bacillus and Pseudomonas species. The clinical nature of the lipopeptide (LP) has led to a big surge in its research. They show antimicrobial and antitumor activities due to which mass-scale production and purification of LPs are beneficial. Response surface methodology (RSM) approach has emerged as an alternative in the field of computational biology for optimizing the reaction parameters using statistical models. In the present study, Pseudomonas sp.

In the present investigation, we have described optimization of environmental and nutritional requirements for maximum biosynthesis of ADI from bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa PS2. We observed that batch time 25 h, inoculum age 20 h, 8% (v/v) inoculum size, pH 6.5 and temperature 37 °C were found as the most suitable operating conditions for ADI production. Galactose, peptone, KH2PO4 and L-arginine were found as the best carbon, nitrogen, mineral ion and inducer for ADI production, respectively.

The process parameters influencing the production of extracellular laccases by Streptomyces lavendulae were optimized in submerged fermentation. It was made to screen, enhance and production of laccase enzyme produced by the consortium of laccase producing Streptomyces lavendulae. To date, laccases connect mostly been independently and characterized from flora and fauna of fungi and unaided fungal laccases are used currently in biotechnological applications

Deproteinated cheese whey was used for biomass production of probiotic strain Lactobacillus helveticus MTCC 5463 in a biofermenter. Optimization of growth parameters such as temperature, pH and time of incubation as well as nutrient supplementation of cheese whey was carried out using response surface methodology (RSM). Cheese whey supplemented with 0.95% yeast extract and 0.95% proteose peptone, inoculated with 6% (v/v) active culture of L. helveticus MTCC 5463 and fermented for 24 h at optimized temperature of 40ºC and pH 6.25 yielded 3.25 g/L dry cell biomass and 14.

The objective of this research was to determine the significant parameters for the production of α-L-rhamnosidase by Aspergillus flavus in submerged fermentation. Five factors Viz. inducer concentration (naringin), incubation days, temperature, pH and metal ion at two levels were selected with orthogonal array layout of L16 (25 ). The experimental result indicate that inducer concentration (0.5% naringin), incubation days (7), temperature (28 0C), and pH (6.

The hydrolase enzymes using in industrial processes have always given particular interest because of their non-toxic and protective nature. In the present study, various physicochemical parameters for α-glucosidase production from strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae C8-5 and Candida tropicalis C0-7 were optimized by using a starches of some agricultural products of Côte d’Ivoire. It was found that S. cerevisiae C8-5 and C.

By direct method of isolation, total seven potent yeast isolates were obtained namely CP1, CP2, B2X1, B2X2, BE, GE1 and GE2, which were further screened for their better utility. Out of this, best ethanol producer yeast strain BE was further studied for the optimization of different physical and chemical parameters. Maximum ethanol production obtained at pH-7 while optimum xylose concentration for highest ethanol production was found to be 2%. Best economically viable nitrogen source found to be casamino acid.

Amongst six natural lignocellulosic waste/raw material screened, millet straw contained maximum cellulose (30 %) and physical and chemical pre-treatment yielded maximum cellulase activity. The composition of millet straw showed 30 % cellulose, 10 % hemicellulose, 8.73 % total organic carbon, 0.7 % total nitrogen and 0.8 ppm phosphorous. Amongst four fungi of genus Aspergillus isolated from local soil dumps of kitchen and garden waste, Aspergillus flavus showed maximum cellulase activity on CMC agar medium and used for degradation of millet straw.

Lipases are enzymes that catalyze the transformation reactions of triglycerides in to fatty acids and glycerol. They can be produced by animals, plants and microorganisms. This article presents the isolation of lipase-producing bacteria from soil samples collected from sites contaminated with waste from palm oil production in the littoral region of Cameroon. These permit to isolate a multitude of bacteria capable of producing lipase from Rhodamine B-agar olive oil culture medium.

Aspergilli, a large and diverse genus of ubiquitous filamentous fungi are the source of diverse secondary metabolites that can be used in the development of medications to treat diseases. Butyrolactone I is produced as a secondary metabolite by A. terreus. Butyrolactone I is a potent inhibitor of the eukaryotic cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK’s), protein kinases which control cell progression in all eukaryotes. Cyclin-dependent kinases are involved in numerous diseases in human beings like, cancer, stroke, diabetes, inflammation and AIDS.
