To elucidate these issues, a detailed study of the microstructure of amorphous V2O5 under pressure was needed. The spatial distributions of atoms, the link distributions and the geometrical distributions of the free volumes need to be fully investigated. The Nambu-Goldstone (NG) modes in the system of two segregated Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) limited by two hard walls are studied by means of the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) theory. Based on the double-parabola approximation (DPA) combining with the Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) equations we found four NG modes that proves the failure of the Watanabe-Brauner counting rule and, furthermore, their dispersion relations depend explicitly on the geometrical structure.

This paper presents a simulation method to determine the local sensitivity of geometrical parameters of the micro-beam models used in the micro-mechanical structures. The analysis allows for defining the essential parameters in designing the microstructures to reduce the designing time. The analysis results can be used to give suitable geometrical parameters for the micro-mechanical structure according to the purposed resonant frequency.

This article presents computational insights into the geometric and electronic structures of NbSi4 −/0 clusters using density functional theory and the CASSCF/CASPT2 method. The anionic and neutral ground states are identified as the 1A′ and 2A′ states, respectively, within a trigonal bipyramidal isomer where the Nb atom occupies the equatorial position. The adiabatic detachment energy for the transition from the anionic ground state 1A′ to the neutral ground state 2A′ is estimated to be 2.30 eV.

In the study "Building a 3D information model for underground coal mines" a 3D information model for a mine is built using BIM. The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard is used to define the mining information model. Point clouds collected by Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) provide geometric and attributive information for building BIM models. This information model was applied to the NUI BEO underground coal mine. The information model was built for important structures of the mine, including the mine shaft and tunnels.

The results show that the O atom, as compared to the S, Se, and Te ones acting as proton acceptors, plays a peculiar role in the C-H blue shift of stretching frequencies involving hydrogen bonds. It is found that the magnitude of red- or blue-shift of the C-H stretching frequency in the hydrogen bond is mainly determined by the C-H polarity (DPE) and gas phase basicity (PA) of the proton acceptor in the isolated isomer, besides relevant weak interactions and the geometrical structure of the formed complex.
