This paper investigates the stability of solutions for the class of semi-affine variational inequalities in real Hilbert spaces whose feasible set does not depend on parametric. As an application, we obtain the stability of solutions for the parametric quadratically constrained quadratic programming problems in real Hilbert spaces.

In this work, we consider a class of languages named ω-set decipherable languages which are very close to the ω-codes. We solve the problem in the restricted case where L is ω-set decipherable and L ∗ is the greatest generator of L ω.

In this lecture we introduced the basic notation and terminology required to describe formal grammar and languages, we showed how a finite set of production rules (a gram- mar) was a convenient way of describing a potentially infinitely large set of strings (a language), we describe how regular expressions provide a con- venient way of describing regular languages,...

A natural and simple question asked is: Does the Cremona group Cr(n) admit a structure that is of an algebraic group of infinite dimension. This is still an open question because we don’t know if the set Cr≤d(n) of birational maps of degree ≤ d admits a structure of the algebraic variety.

Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. We show that any set of generators of the Cremona group Crk(n) of the projective space P n k with n greater than 2 contains an infinite and uncountable number of non trivial birational isomorphisms.

With the development of power system interconnection, the low-frequency oscillation is becoming more and more prominent which may cause system separation and loss of energy to consumers. This paper presents an innovative robust control for power systems in which the operating conditions are changing continuously due to load changes. However, practical implementation of robust control can be fragile due to controller inaccuracies (tolerance of resistors used with operational amplifiers).

A new fast least-squares method is developed to estimate the shape factor (q-parameter) of a buried structure using normalized residual anomalies obtained from gravity data. The problem of shape factor estimation is transformed into a problem of finding a solution of a non-linear equation of the form f(q) = 0 by defining the anomaly value at the origin and at different points on the profile (N-value). Procedures are also formulated to estimate the depth (z-parameter) and the amplitude coefficient (A-parameter) of the buried structure.

In this paper we first define a new version of the Schutzenberger product for any two monoids A and B , and then, by defining a generating and relator set, we present some finite and infinite consequences of the main result. In the final part of this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for this new version to be periodic and locally finite.

The Schrodinger equation for the eigenvalues of the infinitely deep square well potential is solved within the class of generalised functions. It is found that the ground state consists of a step function like eigenfunction with the eigenvalue zero.

Inspired by the theory of analysis on fractals, we construct an example of a continuous, monotone function on an interval, which has vanishing derivatives on a dense set and infinite derivatives on another dense set. Although such examples could be constructed by classical means of probability and measure theory, this one is more elementary and emerges naturally as a byproduct of some new fractal constructions.

In setting up a national statistical organization, management must come to grips with a number of key issues concerning dissemination to the media. It might be preferable to develop policies on many of these issues, which include: Allocating resources: The national statistical organization must first decide how much it wants to spend on media relations. Financial resources are not infinite. An organization’s wish to be as helpful to the media as possible must be counterbalanced by a program that fits within its available budget. ...

The Portuguese began exploring the west coast of Africa shortly before Christopher Columbus was born; and no sooner did they encounter negroes than they began to seize and carry them in captivity to Lisbon. The court chronicler Azurara set himself in 1452, at the command of Prince Henry, to record the valiant exploits of the negro-catchers. Reflecting the spirit of the time, he praised them as crusaders bringing savage heathen for conversion to civilization and christianity.
