The influence of dose, concentration of CMC and bentonite on the sorption of hydrogels was investigated by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) method. According to the Langmuir isotherm model, the maximum adsorption capacities of CMC/bentonite hydrogel for Cu2+ and Pb2+ were 181.82 mg/g and 204.08 mg/g at room temperature, respectively. The pseudo-second-order model which describes the adsorption process of Cu2+ and Pb2+ was also studied. Mời các bạn tham khảo!

Fe2O3 -V2O5 mixed oxides were synthesized with solid-state dispersion (SSD) and coprecipitation methods. In addition, transition metal oxides such as CuO, NiO, and Co3O4 were successfully loaded on the synthesized catalyst (Fe2O3 -V2O5) using the SSD method. The composite catalysts were inspected for their photocatalytic activities in degrading 2,4-dichlorophenol under UV light enforcement.

One of the health risks posed to astronauts during deep space flights is exposure to high charge, high-energy (HZE) ions (Z > 13), which can lead to the induction of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, little is known on the molecular mechanisms of HZE irradiation-induced HCC.

The aim of this study is to prepare 18F-NaF radiopharmaceutical using a home-made automatic synthesis module consisting of hardware and software which was made by a researcherteam of Hanoi Irradiation Center, HIC, Hanoi, Vietnam. Fluorine-18 isotopes produced in cyclotron KOTRON13 were transferred to the module and radioactive cation impurities were first removed by cation exchange on a carboxymethyl cation exchange (CM) cartridge, and then 18F - ion were trapped by a quaternary methyl ammonium anion exchange (QMA) cartridge.

This paper presents the change in the volt-farad characteristics of the Al/SiO2/n-Si structure irradiated with helium ions with the energy of 5 MeV in the frequencies of 1, 10, 100, and 1000 kHz. The voltage dependence of the capacitance and the frequency dependence of the dissolution angle are measured on an LCR Agilent E4980A and Agilent 4285A meter.

KGdF4 polycrystalline doped with the different concentration of Sm3+ ions were synthesized by hydrothermal technique. Thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves of samples were measured in the range from 50 oC to 400 oC after irradiating beta, neutron and X-ray radiations. The response of TL intensity to impurity concentration and neutron dose were studied in detail. The TL kinetic parameters such as activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s) were estimated by using the method of heating rate variation.

A novel technique based on photocatalysis was applied to eliminate chromium ions, a toxic hazardous environmental pollutant. The photoreduction of each species of chromium (total, hexavalent, and trivalent chromiums) from chrome-electroplating wastewater was investigated using a titanium dioxide suspension under irradiation by a low-pressure mercury lamp. The initial concentration of total chromium was 300 mg/l. The applied conditions were the direct photocatalytic reduction process at pH 3.65 and the indirect photocatalytic reduction with added hole scavengers at the same solution pH.

Influence of the austenitic stainless steel microstructure on the void swelling under ion irradiation
To understand the role of different metallurgical parameters on the void formation mechanisms, various austenitic stainless steels were elaborated and irradiated with heavy ions. Two alloys, in several metallurgical conditions (15Cr/15Ni–Ti and 15Cr/25Ni–Ti), were irradiated in the JANNUS-Saclay facility at 600 °C with 2 MeV Fe2+ ions up to 150 dpa.

The objective of the present work is to study the irradiation effects on third generation SiC fibers which fulfill the minimum requisites for nuclear applications, i.e. Hi-Nicalon type S, hereafter HNS, and Tyranno SA3, hereafter TSA3. With this purpose, these fibers have been ion-irradiated with 4 MeV Au ions at room temperature and increasing fluences.

Binary collision approximation (BCA) calculation allows for two types of damage calculation: full cascade and quick calculations. Full cascade mode describes fully the cascades while in quick calculations, only the trajectory of the ion is followed and effective formulas give an estimation of the damage resulting from each collision of the ion.

In order to investigate how the microstructure of fuel/matrix-interaction (FMI) layers change during irradiation, different U–7Mo dispersion fuel plates have been irradiated to high fission density and then characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Specifially, samples from irradiated U–7Mo dispersion fuel elements with pure Al, Al–2Si and AA4043 (~4.5 wt.%Si) matrices were SEM characterized using polished samples and samples that were prepared with a focused ion beam (FIB).
