The study aims to identify the capital structure determinants of the listed construction firms in Vietnam. The determinants of capital structure are factors affecting firm financial leverage, including firm profitability, size, growth rate, fixed assets, liquidity, interest coverage and state ownership. The study is based on a data of 74 listed construction firms in the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange over the period 2014-2018. It is found that listed construction firms in Vietnam have high level of financial leverage and mainly rely on short-term debts.

This research investigates the ‘stateless income’ tax strategies pursued by firms publicly listed in the United States. Stateless income strategies are employed by multinational corporations, American firms in particular, through a Double Irish Dutch Sandwich structure to reduce tax liabilities. By examining 700 listed U.S. firms over the period 2004-2013, this research finds that larger firms with higher levels of foreign income are more likely to adopt the Double Irish Dutch Sandwich structure.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of contingency elements on environmental management accounting implementation in manufacturing firms in Vietnam. The study used a questionnaire to survey 279 manufacturing firms in Vietnam and the use of structural equation modeling (SEM). Results show that the implementation of environmental management accounting is only at a moderate level (3.11 in the five-point Likert scale) and firms do not focus on the analysis of environmental information, and the implementation of internal reports on the environment is low.

The paper examines the impact of debt structure (DS) on the earnings quality (EQ) of energy businesses (DN) in Vietnam. The authors measure EQ in terms of profit management to consider the effect of accounts payable; short-term debts and loans; long-term debts and loans on EQ. The research uses generalized least squares regression method with data gathered from 468 observations collected at energy enterprises listed on the stock market in Vietnam in the period of 2009-2018.
