Leverage and Profitability

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the factors affecting the operational efficiency of publicly listed manufacturing companies on the Vietnamese stock market during the period 2010-2022. With panel data of 1690 observations, the results indicate that the profitability ratio has been influenced by five factors. The most influential factors that positively affecting ROA must include Cashflow (coef = 0.947), while the other factors show statistical significance, but their coefficients suggest a relatively weak impact (debt, size, liquid, leverage).

The real estate is a fast-growth and dynamic industry. Firms that operate in this field need capital. The purpose of this research is to reinforce the capital structure of firms listed on the stock exchange in Indonesia. This study uses a multiple linear regression analysis technique. The analysis revealed that profitability, growth and leverage are negatively related to capital structure. The conclusion is that firms have to reinforce their capital structure, to control profitability and operation.

The fastest rate of development a company may experience while still retaining its capital structure was known as its sustainable growth rate. The company may have liquidity issues if its growth rate exceeds its sustainable growth rate as a result of a change in capital structure and excessive debt expansion. However, when a business grows at a rate that was below what is sustainable, it eventually stagnates.

This paper examined the association between financial leverage and financial performance of Nigerian manufacturing firms. Performance is the ability of management to control firms’ resources to gain competitive advantage. Among the internal organisational factors that affect firms’ profitability is financial leverage which is the firms’ capital structure framework. From agency theory perspective, it is hypothesised that profitability increases with debt financing to a certain optimal level of debts.

The paper examines the impact of dividend policy on corporate value. Data collection is the result of listed companies on the Vietnamese stock market in the period of 2006 - 2017 with 2,278 observations. Using the General Least Square (GLS) approach, the authors have identified three factors that have a positive and significant impact on corporate value: dividend payout, profitability, and corporate sizes; and one factor which has a negative impact on corporate value is the degree of financial leverage.
