This study is to determine impacts of the dynamics of digital transformation as a strategic choice of banks on their performance under constant changes of technology, notably financial technologies and relatively stable market conditions such as macroeconomic policies, legal framework and industry structure. A sample of 23 Listed Commercial Banks in Vietnam was used that is based on the availability of ICT readiness index as a measure for the banks’ initial stages to prepare for digital transformation journey.

This study examines the impact of ownership structures, foreign ownership, and concentrated ownership, on risk in Vietnamese commercial banks. We employ panel data analysis, considering financial metrics (ROA, ROE, ADZ), control variables (SIZE, LOA, LIQ, EFF), and macroeconomic conditions (δt). Results indicate that foreign ownership reduces risk, seen in lower standard deviations of ROA and ROE. In contrast, concentrated ownership increases risk, particularly in ROA.

This paper assesses the effect of coal energy production volume, exchange rate, inflation and gross domestic product on the volume of Indonesia's coal energy exports in 1998-2019. Based on an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach, in the short run, we find that the coal energy production volume, exchange rate, and gross domestic product has a negative relationship to Indonesia's coal energy exports. However, on the other hand, inflation has a positive relationship to Indonesia's coal energy exports.

The CECL revised accounting standard for credit loss provisioning is intended to represent a forward-looking and proactive methodology that is conditioned on expectations of the economic cycle. In this study we analyze the impact of several modeling assumptions - such as the methodology for projecting expected paths of macroeconomic variables, incorporation of bank-specific variables or the choice of macroeconomic variables – upon characteristics of loan loss provisions, such as the degree of pro-cyclicality.

The stock market returns are known to be significantly correlated with both inflation and money growth. Nevertheless, the impact of real macroeconomic variables on aggregate equity returns has been difficult to establish, perhaps, because their effects are neither linear nor time-invariant. Therefore, we estimate a GARCH model of daily equity returns in which the realized returns and their conditional volatility depend on twelve macroseries announcements.

The study investigates the drivers of the liquidity position of foreign-owned banks based on a sample of Polish commercial banks during the years 2004-2014. The main aim of this research is to identify the factors influencing the changes in the liquidity position of foreign-owned banks, with a special interest in the bankspecific factors of their parents as well as the macroeconomic conditions and market characteristics of the home countries. Bank-specific factors and the macroeconomic conditions and market characteristics of the host country have also been taken into account.

The objective of this work is to identify and examine the risk premium of the exchange rate; then, to determine the factors that cause it, and to measure its variance by using a GARCH-M model. Some theoretical models are developed by taking the exchange rate risk premium as dependent variable and other macrovariables, political events, and market conditions as independent ones. There are three different exchange rates ($/€, $/£, and ¥/$) used, here, for the measurement of the risk premium and the empirical test of the model.

Inspired from a simple theoretical macroeconomic model, proposed by Ozkan et al. (2010), which shows a positive link between public debt issues and central bank independence, we empirically investigate if central bank independence has an impact on the net stock of government securities and public debt. Our research has been focused on various levels of independence of the central bank of 22 countries from 1992 to 2000, where significant changes in the index of independence for a large number of central banks have been occurred.

Congress was an active participant in the policy responses to this crisis and has an ongoing interest in macroeconomic conditions. Current macroeconomic concerns include whether the economy is in a sustained recovery, rapidly reducing unemployment, speeding a return to normal output and employment growth, and addressing government’s long-term debt problem. In the typical post-war business cycle, lower than normal growth during the recession is quickly followed by a recovery period with above normal growth.

There has been substantial progress in the development of the government bond market. Key steps include a lengthening of the yield curve, reduction in external exposure and diversification of the investor base. This has been supported by improved macroeconomic conditions, foreign investors entering the fixed rate segment of local currency government debt, and well designed microstructure reforms regarding issuance policy and auction process. As shown below, the government bond market has become more resilient to various risk factors. ...

We focus on the dynamics of active management skills, and how an investor might optimally choose active funds during varying business conditions. Building on studies such as Avramov and Wermers (2006) and Moskowitz (2000), we allow for the possibility of time-varying mutual fund alphas and betas among active managers in Europe. Following Christopherson, et al. (1998) and Ferson and Schadt (1996), we model such time-variation using a publicly available set of conditioning state variables.
