In particular, we will show that the studied models really admit the Bianchi type I metrics, which are homogeneous but anisotropic space time, as their stable cosmological solutions. Hence, these models turn out to be counterexamples to the cosmic no-hair conjecture.

In the nineteenth century, scientists, mathematician, engineers and innovators started investigating electromagnetism. The theory that underpins wireless communications was formed by Maxwell. Early demonstrations took place by Hertz, Tesla and others. Marconi demonstrated the first wireless transmission. Since then, the range of applications has expanded at an immense rate, together with the underpinning technology. The rate of development has been incredible and today the level of technical and commercial maturity is very high.

This is the sixth book of examples from the Theory of Probability. This topic is not my favourite, however, thanks to my former colleague, Ole Jørsboe, I somehow managed to get an idea of what it is all about. The way I have treated the topic will often diverge from the more professional treatment. On the other hand, it will probably also be closer to the way of thinking which is more common among many readers, because I also had to start from scratch.

Ancient Hebrew and Christian tradition relates that the universe was created in six days, following which there was a day of rest. What the old chronicles never recorded was that, on the eighth day, the Creator must have dropped back into the lab to do some tidying up. Only then, coming across his rough notes for Maxwell’s and the acoustic wave equations, did the thought occur that the creation of light and sound could be logically extrapolated to x-rays and ultrasound.

Thermodynamics is one of the most exciting branches of physical chemistry which has greatly contributed to the modern science. Since its inception, great minds have built their theories of thermodynamics. One should name those of Sadi Carnot, Clapeyron Claussius, Maxwell, Boltzman, Bernoulli, Leibniz etc. Josiah Willard Gibbs had perhaps the greatest scientific influence on the development of thermodynamics. His attention was for some time focused on the study of the Watt steam engine.

The study of electromagnetic radiation (EM) can be divided into two distinct areas: full solution of Maxwell's Equations relevant to the specific boundary conditions in a special general case and into application of EM radiation that results in modern life e.g. medicine, telecommunication, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) etc. The reader should have a specific scientific background and must be familiar with the fundamental ideas of EM theory for the first area. Basic understanding of applying the radiation techniques in modern life is needed for the second.

The wireless era was started by two European scientists, James Clerk Maxwell and Heinrich Rudolf Hertz. In 1864, Maxwell presented Maxwell's equations by unifying the works of Lorentz, Faraday, Ampere, and Gauss. He predicted the propagation of electromagnetic waves in free space at the speed of light. He postulated that light was an electromagnetic phenomenon of a particular wavelength and predicted that radiation would occur at other wavelengths as well. His theory was not well accepted until 20 years later, after Hertz validated the electromagnetic wave (wireless) propagation.

The postulate In 1864, James Clerk Maxwell proposed one of the most successful theories in the history of science. In a famous memoir to the Royal Society [125] he presented nine equations summarizing all known laws on electricity and magnetism. This was more than a mere cataloging of the laws of nature. By postulating the need for an additional term to make the set of equations self-consistent, Maxwell was able to put forth what is still considered a complete theory of macroscopic electromagnetism.
