The aim of the research was the processing of the vibration signatures from healthy and damaged composite beams acquired with the help of a Scanning Laser Vibrometer (SLV) upon excitation and analysis of the mode shapes acquired for damage detection. The displacement mode shapes acquired were then converted into curvature mode shapes with the help of a Central Difference Approximation method (CDA).

In this thesis, we study some results of f-minimal surfaces in product spaces with the following purposes: State the relation between the f-minimal surfaces and the selfsimilar solutions of the mean curvature flow; state some properties of the f-minimal surfaces in the product spaces; construct some Bernstein type theorems, halfspace type theorems for f-minimal (f-maximal) surfaces in product spaces; state some results on the higher codimensional f-minimal surfaces.

Understanding the genetic variability and diversity of a crops species provides opportunity for plant breeders to develop new and improved cultivars having both farmer-preferred and breeder-preferred traits. In the present study 11 morphological characters and 16 quantitative characters were recorded from 27 advance breeding lines/varieties to identify useful alleles for future breeding. Genotypes varied considerably in plant growth and morphological characters. The overall mean of ShannonWiener diversity index (H’) value was 0.

The structure of pointwise slant submanifolds in an almost product Riemannian manifold is investigated and the special proper pointwise slant surfaces of a locally product manifold are introduced. In this paper, we prove global second derivative estimates for solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the Monge-Amp`re equation when the inhomogee neous term is only assumed to be H¨lder continuous. These lectures intend to give a self-contained exposure of some techniques for computing the evolution of plane curves. The motions of interest are the so-called motions by curvature. They mean that, at any instant, each point of the curve moves with a normal velocity equal to a function of the curvature at this point. This kind of evolution is of some interest in differential geometry, for instance in the problem of minimal surfaces.
