Mining interesting patterns

The paper attains to finding the association among interested activities in orchard that stimulate the tourists to travel. The knowledge obtained in this study is applying data mining techniques to create the association rule in order to find out the pattern of activities for orchard tourism.

Over the years there has been growing interest regarding the effects of climatic variations on marine biodiversity. The exclusive economic zones of South Pacific Islands and territories are home to major international exploitable stocks of albacore tuna (Thunnus alalunga); however the impact of climatic variations on these stocks is not fully understood. This study was aimed at deter-mining the climatic variables which have impact on the time series stock fluctuation pattern of albacore tuna stock in the Eastern and Western South Pacific Ocean which was divided into three zones.

This paper proposes a framework for mining high utility-probability sequences (HUPSs) in uncertain QSDBs (UQSDBs) with multiple minimum utility thresholds using a minimum utility. Two new width and depth pruning strategies are also introduced to eliminate low utility or low probability sequences as well as their extensions early, and to reduce the sets of candidate items for extensions during the mining process.

Data Collection: No interesting patterns can be validly discovered without a set of historical data that is representative of the population of interest. Each observation in the historical data set should belong to exactly one of the predetermined classes. In direct marketing, such historical data is collected by observing the purchasing behaviours of customers from a previous campaign. Customers in the previous campaign may or may not have received the direct promotion. Whether a customer was to receive the direct promotion may have been randomly decided or by a data mining model.
