In order to explore the importance of the Antheroporum genus in pharmaceutical applications, two bioactivities of A. harmandii plant extracts have been evaluated in this study. Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of A. harmandii extracts will provide evidences for further chemical composition studies to detect new bioactive compounds from this species.

Zoanthid is a potential natural resource with many biological activities, such as antioxidant, antiviral, antiinflammatory, and cytotoxic activity. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity of 70% ethanol crude extract and dichloromethane fraction from Zoanthus vietnamensis. The total polyphenol content of ethanol and dichloromethane extracts were 19.36 ± 1.37 and 24.95 ± 0.63 mg GAE/g extract, respectively.

The main component of carotenoids (lyco-red) extracted from tomato peels was lycopene, phytoene, phytofluene, b-carotene, cis-lycopene and lutein. Consequently, the higher stability of carotenoids (lyco-red) extracted from tomato peels was observed in alkaline pH ranging from 7 to 10 and temperature ranging from 40 to 70 C.

In this research, bioactive compounds found in peanut skins (PS), pomegranate peels (PP) and olive pomace (OP) were extracted using ethanol (80%), ethyl acetate and n-hexane. Ethanol extract showed slightly better antioxidant characteristics compared with ethyl acetate and hexane extracts.

The corrosion inhibition of mild steel alloys is of tremendous technological importance due to their increased industrial applications. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques were used to establish the effect of different concentrations of HCl on the corrosion behavior of mild steel. In this study, silver nanoclusters as prooxidant biosensor were eco‒friendly synthesized using chicken egg white protein without any chemical reducing agents for measuring copper(II)-induced prooxidant activities of catechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin gallate, resveratrol, gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, and rutin. The prooxidant activities were evaluated via measuring the absorption at 450 nm wavelength of the Cu(I)‒neocuproine chelate formed by extraction of protein-bound Cu(I) with neocuproine reagent.

In this study, we collected and prepared ethanol extracts from 30 vegetable and fruit by-products. The extracts were screened on antioxidant activities using three methods including determination of total phenolic content (TPC), DPPH free radical scavenging assay (DPPH assay), and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. The extracts prepared ginger skin (TN-17) and coffee sediment (TN-16) showed strong activity.

In the present study, proteins were extracted and purified from germinated seeds viz. Vigna radiata (mung bean), Cicer arietinum (gram white and gram black).
