In this thesis, focus on the wireless links between devices equipped by deployed operating personnel and intermediary access point infrastructure. We use multi-radio (MR) platforms, wireless devices with multiple and diverse transceiver technologies, to produce robust and reliable links through adaptive control of available transceivers. Primarily, we study the application of intelligent control techniques, namely reinforcement learning (RL), for adaptive control over diverse transceivers to achieve the desired robustness and reliability under dynamic environmental conditions.

This study focuses on exploring the effects of networks on the process of commercialisation in the biotechnology industry. The biotechnology industry itself has a specific position in the industrial markets because of its capability of successfully employing network knowledge to innovate products and services. However, the industry struggles to implement the resource networks to take innovations to market.

This paper intends to present the System Dynamics (SD) as a novel method to simulate the thrust force developed during drilling of GFRP composites. Good quality holes are extremely fundamental so as to accomplish equally good joints amid creation of components prepared from composite for better execution.

In this chapter we discuss our first client/server application program, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). This application is discussed first because it is the first client/server application program that is used after a host is booted. In other words, it serves as a bootstrap when a host is booted and supposed to be connected to the Internet, but the host does not know its IP address.

Chapter summary: DHCP assigns IP addresses by using automatic, manual, or dynamic allocation; DNS resolves host and domain names into IP addresses; WINS resolves NetBIOS names into IP addresses; ping tests whether one computer running TCP/IP can communicate with another computer on the network;...and other contents.

Modelling of biochemical systems usually focuses on certain pathways, while the concentrations of so-called external metabolites are considered fixed. This approximation ignores feedback loops mediated by the environ-ment, that is, via external metabolites and reactions. To achieve a more realistic, dynamic description that is still numerically efficient, we propose a new methodology: the basic idea is to describe the environment by a lin-ear effective model of adjustable dimensionality.

High-quality quantitative data generated under standardized conditions is critical for understanding dynamic cellular processes. We report strategies for error reduction, and algorithms for automated data processing and for establishing the widely used techniques of immunoprecipitation and immu-noblotting as highly precise methods for the quantification of protein levels and modifications.

Biological signaling networks can exhibit rich response dynamics including ultrasensitivity, adaptation to persistent stimuli and oscillations. Previous modeling efforts have considered the proteins in these networks as two-state entities and their total levels as fixed quantities.

Virtually every process in a cell is carried out by macromolecular com-plexes whose actions need to be perfectly orchestrated. The synchronization and regulation of these biological functions is indeed critical and is usually carried out by complex networks of transient protein interactions. Here, we review some of the many strategies that proteins in regulatory networks use to achieve the dynamic plasticity necessary to rapidly respond to diverse cellular needs.

A ubiquitin ligase (E3) functions at the crossroad between ubiquitin acti-vation and the attachment of ubiquitin to protein substrates. During this process, the E3 interacts with both a substrate and a ubiquitin-conjugat-ing enzyme (E2). Although a major goal when investigating an E3 is to identify its substrates, recent evidence indicates that the E2 dictates the type of ubiquitin modification that will occur on the substrate.

The modular C1r protein is the first protease activated in the classical complement pathway, a key component of innate immunity. Activation of the heteropentameric C1 complex, possibly accompanied by major inter-subunit re-arrangements besides proteolytic cleavage, requires targeted regulation of flexibility within the context of the intramolecular and inter-molecular interaction networks of the complex.
