The fission gas release microscopic model of the mechanistic code MFPR is further developed for modelling of enhanced release from irradiated UO2 fuel under transient conditions of the power ramp tests, along with the microstructure evolution characterised by the formation of a new population of large intragranular bubbles with a rather wide size distribution (from 30 to 500 nm), observed in transient-tested UO2 fuel samples.

Bioremediation presents a potentially low cost and environmentally agreeable alternative to current physico-chemical remediation strategies. However, heavy metals such as mercury cannot be converted into non-toxic forms by naturally occurring bacteria. Annual global emissions estimates for mercury released into the environment are in the thousands of tons per year [1,2] while the remediation cost is in the thousands of dollars per pound. Finding new bioremediation technologies is an urgent need.

A new human/rat CRH analogue has been synthesized using the Fmoc/tBu solid-phase synthetic protocol. The sequence ofthe new peptide differs from the original in two positions, 12 and 15, at which the native amino acids L-phenylalanine 12 and L-leucine 15 have been replaced by the nonprotein amino acids D-phenylalanine and a-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), respectively. The high resolution three-dimensional solution structure of [D-Phe12, Aib15]CRH has been determined by 688 dis-tance constraints (656 meaningful NOE and 32 H-bonds distance limits) and 21 angle constraints. ...

A new baculovirus-based fluorescence resonance energy transfer (Bv-FRET) assay for measuringmultimerization of cell surface molecules in living cells is described. It has been demonstrated that gonadotropin-releasing hormone recep-tor (GnRH-R) was capable of forming oligomeric com-plexes in the plasma membrane under normal physiological conditions. The mouse gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor GnRH-R was used to evaluate the efficiency and potential applications of this assay.

Endo-1,5-a-l-arabinanases are glycosyl hydrolases that are able to cleave the glycosidic bonds of a-1,5-l-arabinan, releasing arabino-oligosaccharides and l-arabinose. Two extracellular endo-1,5-a-l-arabinanases have been isolated from Bacillus subtilis, BsArb43A and BsArb43B (formally named AbnA and Abn2, respectively).

In order to overcome the limitation of land available for aquaculture in the central costal region of Vietnam and to reduce organic pollution in traditional integrated fish farming, a new method was developed called the ‘improved VAC’ In traditional VAC systems the manure from farm animals is released into fish ponds whereas in the ‘Improved VAC’ the manure is used for earthworm culture. The worm production is then used to feed high value fish species in tanks.

Histor y of Data Access Over the years, many APIs have been released, all of which work toward the goal of providing universal data access. Universal data access is the concept of having a single code base for accessing data from any source, from any language. Having universal data access is important for four reasons: First, developers can easily work on applications targeting different data stores without needing to become experts on each one.
