The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG)/Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) clinical variant interpretation guidelines established criteria for different types of evidence. This includes the strong evidence codes PS3 and BS3 for “well-established” functional assays demonstrating a variant has abnormal or normal gene/protein function, respectively.

In this study, we propose a method for Web-App DDoS Attack mitigation on the basis of analyzing the relationship among the requests sent to the Web application to find out the source IP address of malicious requests and to perform mitigation. Our method provides a set of criteria that allows determining whether a source IP address is normal or malicious in a short period of time. The criteria also make it difficult for hackers to change the attack methods to overcome the characteristics of the criteria.

Sugarcane (Saccharum L. plant) is an important crop for sugar and bio-energy production around the world. Among sugarcane diseases, smut caused by Sporisorium scitamineum is one of the major fungal diseases causing severe losses to the sugarcane industry. The use of PCR reference genes is essential to the normalization of data on gene expression involving the sugarcane-S. scitamineum interaction system; however, no report that addresses criteria in selecting these reference genes has been published to date.

One of the most common and recurrent vaginal infections is bacterial vaginosis (BV). The diagnosis is based on changes to the “normal” vaginal microbiome; however, the normal microbiome appears to differ according to reproductive status and ethnicity, and even among individuals within these groups.

Current COPD guidelines advocate a fixed < 0.70 FEV1/FVC cutpoint to define airflow obstruction. We compared rate of lung function decline in respiratory symptomatic 40+ subjects who were ‘obstructive’ or ‘non-obstructive’ according to the fixed and/or age and gender specific lower limit of normal (LLN) FEV1/FVC cutpoints.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide. The study aimed to determine and compare the prevalence of COPD in the general population aged 45-74 years old according to fixed ratio and lower limit of normal (LLN) thresholds in four cities in the Southern Cone of Latin America.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are myeloid neoplasms in which outgrowth of neoplastic clones disrupts normal hematopoiesis. Some patients with unexplained persistent cytopenias may not meet minimal diagnostic criteria for MDS but an alternate diagnosis is not apparent; the term idiopathic cytopenia of undetermined significance (ICUS) has been used to describe this state.

Annual low dose CT (LDCT) screening of individuals at high demographic risk reduces lung cancer mortality by more than 20%. However, subjects selected for screening based on demographic criteria typically have less than a 10% lifetime risk for lung cancer.

Observation of normal or abnormal keratin forms is the major criteria in histopathological diagnosis of Verrucous carcinoma. The aim of the study is to evaluate and compare the distinct staining and surface keratin in verrucous carcinoma and normal keratinizing epithelium by routine hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stain, modified papanicolou stain and modified Mallory’s stain. The known cases of verrucous carcinoma and tissues from normal keratinizing epithelial regions with sufficient paraffin embedded tissue were selected.

Functional abdominal pain (FAP) disorders are one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders in children. We aimed to define the association between obesity and functional abdominal pain (FAP) disorders and to assess differences between overweight/obese children and normal weight children with FAP disorders.

The new growth charts in the UK, the UK-WHO charts, comprise prescriptive data from the WHO standard between two weeks and four years of age. Little is known about the development of obesity risk in normal UK infants, who are necessarily not fed according to the WHO recommendations and do not live in constraint-free environments (the selection criteria of the WHO standard source sample), using the new charts.

Present investigation was an attempt to study the trend of jute production in West Bengal for the period starting from 1950 to 2016. For stochastic trend estimation, a number of time series parametric regression models viz. Linear model, Quadratic model, Exponential model, Logarithmic model, Power model and Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) were employed and compared for finding out an appropriate econometric model to capture the trend of jute production of the country. Based on the performance of several goodness of fit criteria viz.

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is a shift or disturbance in balance of vaginal microflora, the normal vaginal microflora consisting of Lactobacillus is replaced by over growth of other commensal bacteria. Other characteristic of BV is increase in vaginal pH. Clinically BV presents as increased thin homogenous vaginal discharge with or without burning micturation and itching. It is an extremely common health problem in women with sexually transmitted infections, pregnant women and women attending Gynecology clinics.

This implies some degree of subjectivity as to individual perceptions of what can be deemed “good quality” (Blanco and Lal, 2008). More recently, the discussion has been centered on the concept of „soil health‟, largely defined for soil biological properties (Doran and Jones, 1996). Both concepts are focused on assessing soil functions in the landscape, but there is no explicit reference state to be used in a soil quality or health framework. Soil quality indicators are normally chosen according to the research focus.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystemic autoimmune disease with a variable clinical course and a wide range of organ manifestations. 101 Blood samples were tested for both anti-dsDNA and Complement levels in patients satisfying the 1982 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria (updated in 1997) for SLE with suspected clinical flares using Euroimmun ELISA Anti-ds DNA-NcX ELISA (IgG) kit and by Nephelometry using the Nephstar kit for both the complements C3 and C4.

The genetic markers in inflammatory responses during mastitis afford a reasonable way for improving milk production in the Egyptian buffalo breed. Among them is the interleukin 8 Receptor Gene (IL8RB) (CXCR2); a chemokine receptor gene augments the neutrophil migration during infection. To understand its role better during mastitis in Egyptian buffalos, twenty-five dairy animals representing the normal, sub-clinically, clinically and chronically affected buffalos were randomly selected from different districts.

Concrete is an inherently brittle material with a relatively low tensile strength compared to compressive strength. Reinforcement with randomly distributed short fibres presents an effective approach to the stabilization of the crack and improving the ductility and tensile strength of concrete. A variety of fibre types, including steel, synthetics, and natural fibres, have been applied to concrete. Polypropylene (PP) fibre reinforcement is considered to be an effective method for improving the shrinkage cracking characteristics, toughness, and impact resistance of concrete materials.
