To achieve high seed vigour, seed priming can be utilized in definite manner in which three organic compounds viz. Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), Salicylic acid (SA) and Nicotinic acid (NA) in diverse concentrations and treatment durations were applied for present analysis on Oat crop. Corynebacterium sp. is a Gram-positive, non-motile and facultatively anaerobic bacilli present in the environment as ubiquitous organism. A 45 day-old Holstein Friesian calf from University Livestock Farm (ULF), Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy was reported with joint ill in both of its forelimbs. Using aseptic procedures, synovial fluid was collected from the right knee joint and inoculated on to blood agar and incubated at 37⁰ C for 24 to 48 hrs to isolate and identify the bacterial aetiology involved.

An Incubation study under laboratory condition were conducted during 2015-16 with a view to study “Influence of slow release nitrogenous fertilizers on soil enzyme activity and microbial population under laboratory condition” The laboratory incubation experiment was conducted in completely randomized design. In incubation study, the urease enzyme activity was increased with an increased period of incubation in all the treatments. Dehydrogenase enzyme activity was significantly higher in treatment GRDF at 7, 21, 45 and 90 DAA (1.41, 1.55, 1.69 and 1.56 µg TPF g-1 soil hr-1 respectively).

Humic acids (HA) are widely used in agriculture because of their capability as chelator, organic matter, and soil improver and growth promoter. However, their isolation differs in terms of origin or source because of wetting and solubilisation factors. This study was conducted to determine extraction period for HA from organic sources. Standard procedures were used to extract HA from pressmud (PM) and vermicompost (VC) at different extraction periods of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 hours and fractionation periods (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21& 24 hrs).
