This study aimed to investigate the stability of Terminalia nigrovenulosa (T. nigrovenulosa) extract in response to heating treatment and hydrogen peroxide at pH 4 and pH 7. The changes of total polyphenol content, DPPH radical scavenging and reducing power were examined. The obtained results showed that the investigated extract was relatively stable under heating and sterilization condition (pH 4). However, it was unstable at pH 7.

In the present study, the physiological changes in aged cress seeds and seeds imbibed under different temperatures after aging were examined. In this regard, an array of analysis concerned with the cell membrane leakages and seed viability was performed. For comparison, accelerated aged seed lots with high, intermediate and low viability were used, in relation to the control (not subjected to short-term imbibitions).

Dairy cows undergo dramatic changes in endocrine and metabolic status around parturition and in early lactation. Meeting the nutritional requirements of transition dairy cows is important for animal health, production and animal wellbeing. Dry cow feeding and managing play an essential role in this.

In this study, the adult male B. polychresta as a model to evaluate the exposure risks in soil insects inhabiting three different agricultural locations. The HMs concentration and contamination indices within the soil and beetles from study sites were assessed. Moreover, the enzymatic changes and TPc were evaluated in the beetle tissue (gut, fat body, and testis) in these sites. Furthermore, we check the possible relationship interactions between enzyme activities; against HMs accumulation in the whole body tissue of beetles.

Halophytes adapting to live in salinized areas can activate some tolerance mechanism through signal compounds to cope with salinity. However, the role of co-activity of signal compounds in salt tolerance of halophytes has not yet fully understood. We researched the changes in signal compounds involved in the salt tolerance mechanism, including inorganic ions, osmoprotectants and substances related to the antioxidant system in Scorzonera hieraciifolia with fleshy shoots extreme-halophyte.

Drought is the major stress limiting crop productivity and development in arid and semi-arid regions. Tomato genotypes have wide range of sensitivity to drought, two genotypes of tomato H-86 and EC-520061 were used in two different types of field experiment in 2016-2017 at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi. Each experiment was conducted in randomized complete block with three replications.

Salinity in soil or water is one of the major stresses and especially in arid and semi-arid regions, can severely limit crop production. Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)is sensitive to salinity that affects its yield and there is need to identify the tolerant genotypes. In order to evaluate the effect of soil salinity, a pot experiment with two chickpea genotypes was carried out under screen house conditions.

The present investigation dealt with the effect of temperature and duration of pulsing with silver thiosulphate (STS) on the peroxidative changes of cut rose petals during vase life period. From the investigation it was proved that flowers pulsed with 0.4mM STS at 10oC for a short period of 8 hours significantly decreased the catalase and peroxidase activities thereby extending the shelf life of cut roses. The enhanced longevity of cut roses was due to suppressing the formation of peroxides and free radicals in the plant tissue.

Bleached horse mackerel Surimi were mixed with maltodextrins of 18, 20, 22, and 24, DE unit at 8% w/w surimi, along with polyphosphate, industrial mixture and control. All the lots were mixed with butyl hydroxyl anisol (BHA) at the rate of 0.02%. All the lots were packed, frozen and cold store at -18oC±2oC and subjected to biochemical tests. There was increase in values of peroxide value, expressible water loss %, Moisture and decrease in organoleptic scores, protein, salt soluble protein (SSN) and folding test grade.

A field experiment was conducted to study the response of antioxidant enzymes to oxidative damage caused by heat stress induced by changing dates of transplanting in two rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes viz., ‘N22’ (heat tolerant) and ‘IR8’ (heat susceptible). During grain filling period, constitutive level of antioxidative enzymes viz., superoxide dismutase, catalase, ascorbate peroxidase, was found to be 35.7, 88.8 and 84.1% higher respectively, while the content of non-enzymatic antioxidants viz., ascorbate and proline was 78.5 and 81.

Oxidative stress results from an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species and the antioxidants defences, in favour of the former. In recent years, the association between oxidative processes, environmental change and life histories has received much attention. Metals are important inducers of oxidative stress in aquatic organisms, promoting formation of reactive oxygen species through two mechanisms.

Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized using culture filtrate of fungal antagonist Trichoderma asperellum for which silver nitrate was used as the precursor and were characterized by using UV-Vis spectroscopy, DLS, Zeta sizer, TEM and EDX. The physiological effects of Ag NPs on the host crop i.e. tea (clone-TV21) was evaluated at 100% concentration by introducing into the host with five different treatment methods viz. cutting treatment (one leaf bud cutting), injection method, foliar spray, soil application and seedling root dip treatment with 10 replicates for each.

Drought stress is considered a restricting factor for plant products; therefore many compounds were applied to minimise the harmful effects of stress. One type of these compounds that have antioxidative characteristics is brassinosteroids. In this experiment, when 4 fully expanded leaves of tomato plants appeared, 24-epibrassinolide (24-EBL) was sprayed onto the leaves at 0.01 and 1 μM concentrations for 3 days with a 1-day interval.
