Despite an increase in governments' demand for private participation in infrastructure, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have received low engagement from the private sector in the task of bridging infrastructure gaps in emerging markets. Previous literature in the field mainly focuses on the effects of PPPs from the governments' perspective and it is inconclusive in its examination of the advantages and disadvantages of the private sector's participation.

This thesis analyses the Australian resources equity market reaction to the 2010 resource tax announcements. These taxes were explicitly designed to meet tax neutrality conditions. Tax neutrality implies that taxes should not incur substitution effects that result in economic inefficiency. These taxes were intended to generate revenue (i.e., an income effect) while not distorting economic incentives.

This research emphasises Marxist feminist standpoints in order to study typography in its commodity form. Undertaking a critical analysis of typography and the context in which it has been marketed and sold, I intend to problematise the fetishisation of language and interrogate its sociomaterial relations as expressions of commodity feminism within a postfeminist landscape.

The initial objective of this project was to improve Boards of Education in Indonesia, especially in terms of their selection, recruitment, performance and contribution to educational development. However, after doing preliminary study and field visits, I realized that the initial objective was far too ambitious. It quickly became evident that there was considerable confusion about District Boards of Education and a lack of basic information about how they should contribute to educational decision making.

Monetary Policy , the Banking System, and Short -term Money Instrusments Measuring market concentration I define local housing markets as Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), Census Bureau approximations of local housing markets defined by observed commuting patterns.35 The SAT data that I use to measure student outcomes are taken from the early 1990s. Consequently, I use 1990 MSA definitions and draw demographic characteristics of each MSA from the 1990 Census.

A dissertation submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements fog the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Graphical illustration of market equilibrium From Theorem 2 and its corollaries, the income distribution in any equilibrium is divided into J quantiles, with wealthier quantiles living in more preferredhigher x jδ +μ j districts. In Appendix D, I show that this necessary condition is also sufficient for an assignment rule to be an equilibrium allocation. Here, I use these results to construct possible equilibria under different (δ , J) combinations....

When I saw the plans, my immediate impression was.... unbelievable. I thought this can’t be The Cotswolds. It must be California or Switzerland or anywhere else on the globe where good, modern architecture seems to happen naturally. But I was wrong. It is believable and it’s really happening in Gloucestershire. Masterpiece architecture is exciting enough wherever it is built, but there’s something extraordinary here.We are in the deeply conservative English countryside.
