Primary responsibilities

The primary aim of this study is to determine the extent to which external auditors, in exercising their responsibilities under the Australian Auditing Standards, conduct additional audit work (proxied by audit fees) when audit clients have experienced known misappropriation of assets (MOA) fraud. The research is motivated by three key factors. The first being the mounting concerns by the Australian government and others in relation to audit quality.

The study focus on joint-stock commercial banks operating at Mekong Delta. Secondary data was collected from 2011-2018. Primary data is collected by in-depth interviews of experts working in banking industry and interviewing by questionnaires from January 2018 to August 2018. The object of this study is the relationship between corporate social responsibility, brand equity and financial performance of commercial banks. Interviewers are customers, employees and managers who are currently working in joint-stock commercial banks.

The Son La hydro plant was built during 2005-2012, and it was stated that its completion was two years earlier than it had been set in the plan. Quick preparations for the resettlement and short time for calculation and disbursement of compensation were the main factors contributing to the earlier completion of the construction.

Primary School Curriculum Science Social, Environmental and Scientific Education (SESE) provides opportunities for the child to explore, investigate and develop an understanding of the natural, human, social and cultural dimensions of local and wider environments; to learn and practise a wide range of skills; and to acquire open, critical and responsible attitudes. SESE enables the child to live as an informed and caring member of local, national, European and global communities.

Duodenase is a 29-kDa serine endopeptidase that displays selective trypsin- and chymotrypsin-like substrate specificity. This enzyme has been localized to epitheliocytes of Brunner’s glands, and as described here, to mast cells within the intestinal mucosa and lungworm-infected lung, implying an important additional role in inflammation and tissue remodelling. In primary cultures of pulmonary artery fibroblasts, duodenase induced a concentration-dependent increase in [3H]thymidine incorporation with a maximal effect observed at 30 nM.

Lactoferrin (LF) is a Fe 3+ -binding glycoprotein, first recognized in milk and then in other human epithelial secretions and barrier fluids. Many different functions have been attributed to LF, including protection from iron-induced lipid peroxidation, immunomodulation and cell growthregulation, DNA binding, and transcriptional acti-vation. Its physiological role is still unclear, but it has been suggested to be responsible for primary defense against microbial and viral infection.

All higher organisms divide major biochemical steps into different cellular compartments and often use tissue-specific division of metabolism for the same purpose.Such spatial resolution is accompanied with temporal changes of meta-bolite synthesis in response to environmental stimuli or developmental needs.Although analyses of primary and secondary gene products, i.e. transcripts, proteins, and metabolites, regularly do not cope with this spatial and temporal resolution, these gene products are often observed to be highly coregulated forming complex networks....

Primary olfactory neuronal cultures exposed to odorant stimulation have previously exhibited concentration-related effects in terms of intracellular cAMP levels and adenylate cyclase activity [Ronnett, G.V., Parfitt, D.J., Hester, L.D. & Snyder, S.H. (1991)PNAS88, 2366–2369].Maximal sti-mulation occurred for intermediate concentrations, whereas AC activity declined for both low and high odorant con-centrations.We suspected that this behavior might be ascribed to the intrinsic response of the first molecular species concerned by odorant detection, i.e. the olfactory receptor itself....

Caspases are a conserved family of cysteine proteases. They play diverse roles in inflammatory responses and apoptotic pathways. Among the casp-ases is a subgroup whose primary function is to initiate apoptosis. Within their long prodomains, caspases-2, -9 and -12 contain a caspase activation and recruitment domain while caspases-8 and -10 bear death effector domains.

We used two inhibitors of the signaling enzyme phosphatidylinositol 3-kin-ase (PtdIns3K), wortmannin and LY294002, to evaluate the potential involvement of PtdIns3K in the activation of the MAP kinases (MAPK), Erk1 and Erk2. In dose–response studies carried out on six different cell lines and a primary cell culture, we analyzed the ability of the inhibitors to block phosphorylation of protein kinase B⁄akt (PKB⁄akt) at Ser473 as a measure of PtdIns3K activity, or the phosphorylation of Erk1⁄2 at activa-ting Thr⁄Tyr sites as a measure of the extent of activation of MAPK⁄Erk kinase (MEK⁄Erk).

Macrophages are the primary host cells forMycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Although macrophages can mount a strong inflammatory response to dispose of invading microbial pathogens, the immune dysfunction of the Mtb-infected macrophage constitutes the hallmark of mycobacterial patho-genesis.

In recent years, possible health hazards due to radiofrequency radiation (RFR) emitted by mobile phones have been investigated. Because several publications have suggested that RFR is stressful, we explored the potential biological effects of Global System for Mobile phone communication at 900 MHz (GSM-900) exposure on cultures of isolated human skin cells and human reconstructed epidermis (hRE) using human keratinocytes.

PEX1 is a type II AAA-ATPase that is indispensable for biogenesis and maintenance of the peroxisome, an organelle responsible for the primary metabolism of lipids, such asb-oxidation and lipid biosynthesis. Recently, we demonstrated a striking structural similarity between its N-terminal domain and those of other membrane-related AAA-ATPases, such as valo-sin-containing protein (p97).

Electron transferring flavoproteins (ETFs) are soluble heterodimeric FAD-containing proteins that function primarily as soluble electron carriers between various flavoprotein dehydrogenases. ETF is positioned at a key metabolic branch point, responsible for transferring electrons from up to 10 primary dehydrogenases to the membrane-bound respiratory chain.

In plants and green algae, several starch synthase isozymes are responsible for the elongation of glucan chains in the biosynthesis of amylose and amy-lopectin. Multiple starch synthase isozymes, which are classified into five major classes (granule-bound starch synthases, SSI, SSII, SSIII, and SSIV) according to their primary sequences, have distinct enzymatic properties.

Older individuals encounter a panoply of legal vicissitudes, as well as other types of challenges, in their daily lives. For older persons needing medical services, it frequently is impossible to separate the clinical aspects of care from the legal (as well as ethical, financial, and public policy) elements. Medical care of the elderly is intimately affected and extensively governed by the broad array of legal considerations that are applicable to the delivery of health services in general, and many of these considerations often are exacerbated in the care of older persons.

Prostate apoptosis response factor-4 (Par-4) is an ubiquitously expressed pro-apoptotic and tumour suppressive protein that can both activate cell-death mechanisms and inhibit pro-survival factors. Par-4 contains a highly conserved coiled-coil region that serves as the primary recognition domain for a large number of binding partners. Par-4 is also tightly regulated by the aforementioned binding partners and by post-translational modifica-tions.

Mutations in the alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase gene (AGXT) are responsible for primary hyperoxaluria type I, a rare disease characterized by excessive hepatic oxalate production that leads to renal failure. A deeper understanding of the changes in the metabolic pathways secondary to the lack of AGXT expression is needed in order to explore substrate depletion as a therapeutic strategy to limit oxalate production in primary hyperoxal-uria type I.

The creative process of advertising is guided by specific goals and objectives and requires the development of a creative strategy or plan of action for achieving the goal. Creative strategy development actually begins with a thorough assessment of the marketing and promotional situation and a determination of what needs to be communicated to the marketer’s target audience. Creative strategy should, however, also be based on a number of other factors that are stated in the creative or copy platform....
