Lecture Data structures and other objects using C++ - Chapter 13: Quadratic sorting. Chapter 13 presents several common algorithms for sorting an array of integers. Two slow but simple algorithms are Selectionsort and Insertionsort. This presentation demonstrates how the two algorithms work.

In adaptive finite element methods, the papproach uses elements of varying degrees to represent the approximate solution. In this paper, we systematically define, present and prove the main properties of nodal basis functions utilized in p-adaptive finite element methods.

In nonlinear systems, the first order of smallness terms of quadratic nonlinearity and the forced excitation with nonresonance frequency and the second order of smallness terms of linear friction, cubic nonlinearity, forced and parametric excitation with resonance frequencies have no effect on the oscillation in the first approximation.

In this paper, we explore the power of randomized algorithm to address the challenge of working with very large amounts of data. We apply these algorithms to generate noun similarity lists from 70 million pages. We reduce the running time from quadratic to practically linear in the number of elements to be computed.

Let E be an elliptic curve over Q, let p be an ordinary prime for E, and let K be an imaginary quadratic field. Write K∞/K for the anticyclotomic Zp-extension of K and set G∞ = Gal(K∞/K). Following a construction of Section 2 of [BD1] which is recalled in Section 1, one attaches to the data (E,K, p) an anticyclotomic p-adic L-function Lp(E,K) which belongs to the Iwasawa algebra Λ := Zp[[G∞]]. This element, whose construction was inspired by a formula proved in [Gr1], is known, thanks to work of Zhang ([Zh, §1.
