This study uncovers a wide range of complex transport dynamics in transiently forced aquifers that has profound implications for the understanding and quantification of solute transport in these important groundwater systems. And the results in this thesis predict that complex transport structures and dynamics arise in natural transiently forced aquifers around the world. When such dynamics do arise, it will lead to mixing and reactive transport patterns that are very different from those predicted by conventional Darcy flow models.

A simple and inexpensive method was developed using liquid - liquid extraction, together with high performance chromatographic method for determination of methoxyfenozide residues in grapes. The evaluated parameters include the extracts by distilled water and acetonitrile solvents. The method was validated using grapes samples spiked with methoxyfenozide at different fortification levels (0.05, 0.1 and 0.5 µg/g). It is easy for anyone who takes a look at the quality literature to note the absence of consensus in quality definition. In this article, we try to answer two questions. First one: which definition is the best? To compare and judge, we propose four criteria of “good quality definition”, and then, we list different definitions and enumerate the major existent classifications in the literature. The most important critics formulated are also listed.

Metabolic fluxes provide a detailed metric of the cellular metabolic phenotype. Fluxes are estimated indirectly from available measurements and various methods have been developed for this purpose. Of particular interest are meth-ods making use of stable isotopic tracers as they enable the estimation of fluxes at a high resolution. In this paper, we present data validating the use of mass spectrometry (MS) for the quantification of complex metabolic flux networks.

We report on the results obtained by measuring the stoi-chiometry of antenna polypeptides in Photosystem I (PSI) fromArabidopsis thaliana. This analysis was performed by quantification of Coomassie blue binding to individual LHCI polypeptides, fractionation by SDS/PAGE, and by the use of recombinant light harvesting complex of Photo-system I (Lhca) holoproteins as a standard reference. Our results show that a single copy of each Lhca1–4 polypeptide is present in Photosystem I.

The Hitachi SV1100 utilizes capillary electrophoresis on a microchip that is capable of rapidly sizing DNAfrag-ments. Reproducibility of electrophoresis in different channels was shown by comparing the migration times of the internal controls, DNAfragments of 100 and 800 bp.
