In this study, we suggested an FSO system with RIS assistance to mitigate the effects of signal blockage in the communication system, atmospheric turbulence, and UAV’s misalignment-induced fading. In a free-space environment with obstacles, the probability density function and cumulative distribution functions of an FSO system made up of RIS are derived.

In this work, we aim to design and evaluate an autoencoder-based communication model with RIS support, which can adapt to changes in the environment and the receiver’s position. Specifically, we use neural networks to present the encoder and decoder of the system and the parameters of these networks are trained to minimize the reconstruction error at the receiver.

. In this paper, a three-phase state element for electronically reconfigurable transmitarrays is presented. The element is made up of C-patches and modified ring slots loaded rectangular gaps. By controlling the bias state of four p-i-n diodes, three phase states are obtained. The dimension of the element is optimized by using full-wave EM simulation and performance of the element is validated by both simulation and an experimental waveguide system.

In this paper, a PCA and ANN-based face recognition system is proposed and implemented on a Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Computing (CGRC) platform. Our work is quite distinguished from previous ones in two aspects. This work deals with the control design and development of an automated car-following strategy that further increases robustness to vehicle dynamics uncertainties. The control algorithm is applied on a hierarchical architecture where high and low level control layers are designed for gap-control and desired acceleration tracking, respectively. A fractional-order controller is proposed due to its flexible frequency shape, fulfilling more demanding design requirements.

Power loss in the power distribution system is computed with “ETAP” simulation software. From computing result of distribution network losses on existing line at PT. PLN UPJ. Bantul BNL 6, BNL 7 and BNL 11 feeders are gotten energy losses as 2,669,328 kWh per year or 1.72 %. Network reconfiguration that involves BNL 6, BNL 7 and BNL 11 feeder gets energy losses decrease as 1.00 % per year.

Design of a digital hearing aid requires a set of filters that gives reasonable audiogram matching for the concerned type of hearing loss. This paper proposes the use of a variable bandwidth filter, using Farrow subfilters, for this purpose. The design of the variable bandwidth filter is carried out for a set of selected bandwidths. Each of these bands is frequency shifted and provided with sufficient magnitude gain, such that, the different bands combine to give a frequency response that closely matches the audiogram.
