Representative problems

The research design adopted to address this problem utilised mixed data collection methodologies. In order to determine what was happening in the industry as a whole, a specially designed survey was conducted utilising both web-based and traditional paper-based instruments. This provided valuable quantitative data about the rate of uptake, types of companies and so on. To complement this, a focus group of selected representatives within the industry was conducted to delve more deeply into motivations behind the decision to adopt the technology and the perceived benefits derived from it.

Research objectives of the thesis: Research the theories of complex fuzzy sets, complex fuzzy logic and measures based on complex fuzzy sets; research and development of fuzzy inference system based on complex fuzzy sets; research applied techniques to reduce rules, optimize fuzzy rules in complex fuzzy inference system; research on how to represent rules based on fuzzy knowledge graphs to reduce inference computation time for the test set and deal with the cases where the new dataset is not present in the training data set.

Focusing on multi-document personal name disambiguation, this paper develops an agglomerative clustering approach to resolving this problem. We start from an analysis of pointwise mutual information between feature and the ambiguous name, which brings about a novel weight computing method for feature in clustering. Then a trade-off measure between within-cluster compactness and among-cluster separation is proposed for stopping clustering. After that, we apply a labeling method to find representative feature for each cluster. ...

The extent of the problem of multiple meaning in translation is illustrated in this analysis of a sample page of Russian scientific text. The use of an idioglossary represents only a partial solution to the problem. AN ANALYSIS of a sample page of Russian scientific text 1 revealed the following distribution of words, with respect to semantic clarity or ambiguity:

Effort represents the work required to perform a task. Effort is measured in person-hours (or person-days, person-weeks, etc.) It represents the total number of hours that each person spent working on the task. Duration is amount of time that elapses between the time the task is started and the time it is completed. Duration is measured in hours (or days, weeks, etc.) It does not take into account the number of people performing the task

ASYMPTOTIC BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR EVOLUTION INCLUSIONS ´ˇ ¨ TOMAS FURST Received 24 January 2005; Revised 12 July 2005; Accepted 17 July 2005 When solving boundary value problems on infinite intervals, it is possible to use continuation principles. Some of these principles take advantage of equipping the considered function spaces with topologies of uniform convergence on compact subintervals. This makes the representing solution operators compact (or condensing), but, on the other hand, spaces equipped with such topologies become more complicated.

BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS IN THE CLASS OF CAUCHY-TYPE INTEGRALS WITH DENSITY IN
BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS IN THE CLASS OF CAUCHY-TYPE INTEGRALS WITH DENSITY IN L p(·) (Γ) V. KOKILASHVILI, V. PAATASHVILI, AND S. SAMKO Received 9 July 2004 We study the Riemann boundary value problem Φ+ (t) = G(t)Φ− (t) + g(t), for analytic functions in the class of analytic functions represented by the Cauchy-type integrals with density in the spaces L p(·) (Γ) with variable exponent. We consider both the case when the coefficient G is piecewise continuous and the case when it may be of a more general nature, admitting its oscillation.

The second condition is the anemia of chronic inflammation with inadequate iron supply to the erythroid marrow. The distinction between true irondeficiency anemia and the anemia associated with chronic inflammation is among the most common diagnostic problems encountered by clinicians (see below). Usually the anemia of chronic inflammation is normocytic and normochromic. The iron values usually make the differential diagnosis clear, as the ferritin level is normal or increased and the percent transferrin saturation and TIBC are typically below normal.

Volume 13 of the Metals Handbook series was compiled in response to the demand from our membership for a detailed work on the multibillion-dollar problem that confronts nearly every design engineer in every industry: corrosion. It represents the culmination of three years of intensive planning, writing, editing, and production. The hard work has paid off. Corrosion is the largest, most comprehensive volume on a single topic ever published by ASM.
