Bộ trưởng Bộ Y tế ban hành Quy chuẩn kỹ thuật quốc gia đối với vitamin A để bổ sung vào dầu thực vật. Ban hành kèm theo Thông tư này QCVN 3-7:2019/BYT - Quy chuẩn kỹ thuật quốc gia đối với vitamin A để bổ sung vào dầu thực vật, bao gồm: retinol, retinyl acetat và retinyl palmitat.

Nghiên cứu bổ sung vitamin A cho trẻ có cân nặng lúc sinh rất thấp đã cho thấy có một sự giảm có ý nghĩa về tỷ tử vong, nhu cầu oxy sau sinh và bệnh lý võng mạc do sinh non (Retinopathy of prematurity: ROP). Alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) deficiency results in decreased retinol utilization, but it is unclear what physio-logical roles the several known ADHs play in retinoid signaling.
