The aim of this paper is to present an efficient high order accuracy numerical scheme for conservation law on structure grids. The Monotone Upstream Centered Scheme for Conservation Laws (MUSCL) procedure renders the model to preserve the well-balanced property and achieve high accuracy and efficiency for solving nonlinear two dimensional shallow water equations (2DSWE).

Harmonic maps from Riemann surfaces arise from a conformally invariant variational problem. Therefore, on one hand, they are intimately connected with moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces, and on the other hand, because the conformal group is noncompact, constitute a prototype for the formation of singularities, the so-called bubbles, in geometric analysis.

In this paper, we investigate the phenomena of concentration and cavitation and the formation of delta-shocks and vacuum states in solutions of the pressureless type system with flux approximation. First, the Riemann problem of the pressureless type system with a flux perturbation is considered.

This work considers the Riemann boundary value problem with the piecewise continuous coefficient in Morrey–Hardy classes. Under some conditions on the coefficient, the Fredholmness of this problem is studied and the general solution of homogeneous and nonhomogeneous problems in Morrey–Hardy classes is constructed.

Using a fixed point theorem, we establish the existence of a solution for a class of boundary value fractional differential equation. Secondly, we will adopt the method of successive approximations to obtain an approximate solution to our problem.

In this paper we study quota complexes (or equivalently in the case of scalar weights, threshold complexes) and how the topology of these quota complexes changes as the quota is changed. This problem is a simple “linear” version of the general question in Morse Theory of how the topology of a space varies with a parameter.

We clearly do not investigate the conditions under which there are continuous solution in G even when the boundary vector family has positive index. In this work, the classical Riemann Hilbert boundary value problem is extended to generalized Q-holomorphic functions.

We study unitary random matrix ensembles of the form −1 Zn,N | det M |2α e−N Tr V (M ) dM, where α −1/2 and V is such that the limiting mean eigenvalue density for n, N → ∞ and n/N → 1 vanishes quadratically at the origin. In order to compute the double scaling limits of the eigenvalue correlation kernel near the origin, we use the Deift/Zhou steepest descent method applied to the Riemann-Hilbert problem for orthogonal polynomials on the real line with respect to the weight |x|2α e−N V (x) . ...

Abstract. The classical Heron problem states: on a given straight line in the plane, find a point C such that the sum of the distances from C to the given points A and B is minimal. This problem can be solved using standard geometry or differential calculus. In the light of modern convex analysis, we are able to investigate more general versions of this problem. In this paper we propose and solve the following problem: on a given nonempty closed convex subset of Rs , find a point such that the sum of the distances from that point to n given nonempty closed convex subsets of...

Theoretical computer science includes computability theory, computational complexity theory, and information theory. Computability theory examines the limitations of various theoretical models of the computer, including the most well-known model – the Turing machine. Complexity theory is the study of tractability by computer; some problems, although theoretically solvable by computer, are so expensive in terms of time or space that solving them is likely to remain practically unfeasible, even with the rapid advancement of computer hardware.

BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS IN THE CLASS OF CAUCHY-TYPE INTEGRALS WITH DENSITY IN
BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS IN THE CLASS OF CAUCHY-TYPE INTEGRALS WITH DENSITY IN L p(·) (Γ) V. KOKILASHVILI, V. PAATASHVILI, AND S. SAMKO Received 9 July 2004 We study the Riemann boundary value problem Φ+ (t) = G(t)Φ− (t) + g(t), for analytic functions in the class of analytic functions represented by the Cauchy-type integrals with density in the spaces L p(·) (Γ) with variable exponent. We consider both the case when the coefficient G is piecewise continuous and the case when it may be of a more general nature, admitting its oscillation.
